Ingredients in Pre-workout shakes, effects of each one?

When I take a pre workout shake, like for example White Flood or Size on I get something like a sugar high that I don't crash off of, what is causing this? I have heard references on other threads talking about Beta Alanine and Niacin or something. I want to be able to describe the effects from the ingredients to my university friends, I can't just say broscience cause they are majoring in biochemistry and stuff and actually know about the compounds... What does what?
Sorry if this is poorly written or sounds noob, I just know some of you guys are alot more aware than me as to how this stuff actually works.

beta-alanine causing a crash? never heard of it. maybe the stimulants are causing your crash -- WF contains caffeine. and do you mean Superpump 250 instead of Sizeon? Sizeon doesn't have stimulants IIRC.

also, if your friends are majoring in biochem, shouldn't they know what each substances does or have the resources to find out instead of you having to tell them? i mean, it's good to know for your own benefit, but they shouldn't rely on you if that's their thing

is there caffiene in all the preworkouts? I thought it might have been from the beta alanine or something...
I have tried other like Horse power and NO-Xplode that didnt do anything, but I get great results from White Flood. Is it because there is more caffiene in it than the others?

you might have good results from WF because it is, IMO, a better product than NO-xplode, never tried horse power. and i don't know how much caffeine is in WF per se.

caffeine is not in all pre-WOs, but in a good majority of them. if you get crashes from pre-WOs containing caffeine, look into non-stim pre-WOs -- there are quality ones out there.

I don't really crash, off any of them but I notice some work way better than other was curious as to what was different between the different supps, my biochem buds could probably tell me all about the compounds but I would like to be able to discuss it with them without sounding dumb...
and yes I meant Super Pump, I have just been reading up on Size on that was a mistake.

I was just thinking that maybe the beta alanine or something had something to do with the "sugar high" feeling I was unaware the effects were caffeine based.

sorry, i misread your original post. i thought you said you crash off of it. if that's the case, i really can't help you... i don't think i've ever had a sugar high before, but i do get lots of energy from white flood.

Sugar high as in what happens to kids when they eat a bunch of candy, basically I was wondering if there were ingredients other than the caffeine that lead to the energy rush from these products.

That's caffeine, it's called energy WF just works a lot better than most due to the other ingredients. The combination seems to allow the caffeine to work more effectively than taking caffeine on its own. But Caffeine is the primary energy producer.

Like I remember a thread a while ago where a guy thought he was dieing after taking a preworkout shake and getting red and itchy that is not from the caffeine is it? I want to be a little more aware so I don't end up as that guy.... lolz

red and itchy is from the beta-alanine. it's a harmless effect and it will get less intense the longer you use it. use it as a indicator that the beta-alanine is actually beta-alanine and is doing its job.

Does the Beta Alanine act as something to increase the bodies uptake of the caffiene? I read about it increasing aerobic endurance, how does it do this? The Beta Alanine does not actually contribute to the energetic feeling?
