Depends on training experience, type of training, etc.

For a 16 year old, I'd be very impressed with a 400 lb deadlift, though.

315lb isnt an amazing deadlift but it isnt bad either. Im currently pulling 190kg(419lb) for a single with just a belt and chalk but i've been putting 5kg onto my max every heavy workout for a few months now but i fear ill ht a plataeu soon.

I wouldnt recomend deadlifting with any sort of back injury. Once you **** up your back, there's no going back!(no pun intended)

Also dont go heavy every deadlift session, your CNS will get screwed and you'll feel like ****. What i tend too do is work up too a heavy triple or double.

I agree, never said it was amazing.

Also this is a stiff leged dead with a slight bnd to the knee.

And i don't deadlift much at all, that is why i was wondering, i deadlift maybe every 2 weeks or so.

And just started doing squats 3-4 weeks ago.

So Deadlifts and squats is what are new to me.

So i'm expecting some noob gains for deads, and a nice jump after i get my back in place.

You got a vid of the deadlift.? ( not saying you can't do it )

at a fat 238lbs I manage a deadlift of 200kg for a single pretty easy and 5 reps on 190kg, I'm gonna try for 220kg end of this month post a vid and if I nail it, I'm gonna do a 230 straight after, I took 4 months off cos of hamstring injury been deadlifting again for a month-month and a half roughly, I use a belt when I get close to my 1 rep max to protect my lower back.

21 years old been lifting for the last 2.5 years

I know less then 5 kids, in my school, that can deadlift over 300lbs, and if you aren't training for strength I guess that is pretty good.

You have a lot of time to get stronger so don't take this the wrong way.
In a powerlifting meet you would have to be in the 181 class and like gettnthere said it would not be a huge lift, atleast not for that class, yet.

You would deff. be able to get in the 400area in 7 or 8 months. I went from 305 to 425 in less then 5 months. Sept-now

I'm 16 and I did 425 a few weeks ago at around 167-170 morning weight. I have a older vid of 405(I think) on my profile page.

    Good luck with it man.

You're 16 yrs old, and training DC. You're asking dumbass questions like this, and you're training DC. Damn, no wonder Dante gets frustrated so much on his board.

Good lifts in your profile, those are good for a kid your age.
A good deadlift for your age is anywhere from 5 pounds to 800 pounds, depending on six million four hundred ninety eight three hundred eleven factors.

As he said, its good if youve never picked up a weight before in your life, but it sucks the nuts if youve been training as a powerlifter (even BBer) for quite a while. Try and double your body weight like you said.

Easy, I wouldnt say his lifts "suck the nuts" esp since you have the physique of a 10 year old girl with the stats that match.

My son pulled 505 belt only in a meet when he was 16. He was about 240 at the time.

My 16 yo is 6'1" and 255....he squatted 505 with belt and wraps...benched 285 raw...and deadlifted 525 with belt...his clean is lacking...205....his HS coach has the team on the BSF program (which I personally think is crap).

His clean is only 205 while his deadlift is 525? It must be his form, or perhaps lack of explosivity?

it really depends how long you have been training, your weight/mass, technique, alot of things.

my deadlift is 545 and im 17, no belt, no wraps, just a chalk replacement (climbers stuff) and ive been powerlifting for about a year. the other 6 months was a cut.
    No pain No gain.

Agreed. I used to dead over 500... but then one day I did a tripple drop set on deads (horribly stupid). That was 2 years ago and I still have back pain.

Without ever training for deadlift I put up 315 when I was 17, 200 lbs.

I'd say 16, 180 lbs... I think your doing pretty good. Keep it up.
