    Arrow Low fat, no abs?

    Hey.
I have barely any fat, but my abs still aren't visible.
When I pinch my skin, it feels like theres no fat, just a thin layer of skin, then muscle, but my abs aren't visible.

I was told that you didn't need to include a heavy ab workout in your routine to get them visible, just low fat.

Cliffs/tl;dr: How do I get abs if I have an extremely low body fat %? Trying to cut any lower would be rediculous.

If you're going to say "ab exercises" could you please include a few good ones in your post? I don't want to **** myself up (hip flexors? wat) with crunches and sit-ups.

*edit: I don't know if you can see from this ****ty picture, but my ribs basic shape is visible, and you can kind of see the shape of my lower 2 ribs.
Chest isn't as small as it looks, arms are raised, but I am very slim for 160lbs.

    Troll?

Of course you need to work your abs out. Just because you're skinny doesn't mean you'll have huge biceps either. There's this site called bodybuilding.com that has a bunch of exercises on it, pretty sure if you click the abs it'll tell you what to do.

    Anyone?
    Inb4 Bulk, I am.

Also, anyone have any idea why I look so damn skinny for a 160lb'er?
I have so little fat, and people who are like, 140lbs look more ripped than me.

Agreed... still looks like you have enough fat to cover those abs right up. If your the no cardio type of guy, but still manages to stay skinny.. go for some HIIT training on your days off. Youll rip through that layer of fat in no time. If you do cardio, do some HIIT training and work harder Do abs twice a week, any more its pointless. Weighted captins chair is a favorite of mine.

your bodyfat isnt as low as you think, your leaning towards being skinny fat, do you even lift? You need to gain some weight, thicken those bitches up with heavy deadlifts, full squats, bent over rows, military presses, weighted decline situps and hanging leg raises. Use the 5-15rep range on the ab exercises. 3-6 reps for deadlifts, sets of 5 for the presses and squats and sets of 8-10 for the rows

Yeah, you don't look low enough to have normal-sized abs. your chest may be skinny but your stomach isn't.

I always say this; there's a fat-to-muscle ratio when it comes to abs. Abs are muscles and they need to be trained in order to see them. It doesn't matter how low your BF is, if you havn't got large enough abs you won't see them. The more BF you have, the larger they're gonna have to be to keep a consistent level of definition, untill you reach a certain point, roughly 12% - 15%, where you can no longer build your abs big enough to stand out over the layer of fat.

I managed to build the first 4 abs in less than 2 months, and the reason is I had such a low bodyfat to begin with (7% - 8%) that it took very little work at all to make them stand out. They're probably not very large as far as ab muscles go though, but enough to stand out against my bodyfat %

im 5'11 at 159 right now and without flexing you can see the outlines of my abs
im usually doing around 90lbs on ab machines
