ChrisLen32 goes Platinum
Finally got a chance to swing home from school and grab the package from ON that I had waiting for me. Just wanted to give a big thanks to ON1 and Sixpack for choosing me to test ON's new Platinum Hydrowhey. Great customer service by the way, you guys were right on top of this promotion! Without further delay...

A little bit about me quick:
5'8
155-60lbs (weight fluctuates pretty frequently)
Lifting on and off since high school football, full time for about 2 years.
I'm 19 years old, and I go to school full time.
Today was the first day I could get a hold of my Hydrowhey since I've been stuck at school studying for finals for the last week or so. The first thing I noticed when I ripped open the package (besides being like a little kid on Christmas) was that I liked the design of the tub. I dont know why, but for some strange reason it was just eye catching. I received a 3.5 lb tub of TURBO CHOCOLATE flavor and I was excited to be trying something new. I tore up the cellophane wrapper, opened up the tub and it hit me....this stuff smells amazing. It actually smells like chocolate is supposed to!
Smell: 10/10 - It smells like hot cocoa mix. Its a smell that actually makes you want to drink it. Smells just as it should.
Consistency: 10/10 - The powder itself is very light and very pure looking. Nice and smooth, and I'm hoping this transfers over to mixability.
For my first serving I decided to just mix one rounded scoop with about 8 oz of cold water (since I dont have any milk in my room at school) just to see how I would mix and how it would taste. I mixed it all up in a shaker cup before I went to take my 8am exam. I drank it with a nice blueberry muffin.
Mixability: 10/10 - For milk at least, this stuff mixes better than anything I've tried. No clumps or lumps, no loose powder stuck to the sides of the shaker cup. Just nice smooth protein shake.
Taste: 10/10 - I'm not sure if its because I was getting really sick of the old flavor of protein I had, or if Turbo Chocolate is really that awesome, but I was loving it this morning. I gulped the whole thing down and wanted another scoop...and would have made another shake if I didnt have to go take my exam.
Digestibility/Stomach Issues: 10/10 - I had no stomach problems at all. This was the first thing I had this morning on an empty stomach to see how I would feel and I had no issues at all. I waited a few before I ate my blueberry muffin to make sure I could tell the difference. So far so good.
Conclusion: So I know its only the first serving and I've got plenty more to go, but I'm definitely excited based upon first impressions. I've heard such good things about ON and had never tried any products previously so to me, this is great. Platinum Hydrowhey seems like a solid product thus far, but I'll be interested to see how it is with milk, peanut butter, fruit, as sludge etc. I'm going to check out some of the recipes on optimumsmoothie.com and see what I can come up with for the future. I'm out of school for winter break tomorrow so I'll have access to a blender and a grocery store so I'll try to make things interesting.

Had my second serving this morning before my last two exams. Nothing special this time, just 1 heaping scoop of hydrowhey with some cold water in a shaker cup. Tasted great though. Hopefully it keeps me going through these exams. Will post more when I get back.

Just finished my first exam. Not sure if this was the protein or the fact that I hadnt eaten yet, but I got pretty bad stomach cramps for like 45 minutes or so until I grabbed breakfast. I'll post my review later.

Ok so like I said this morning, I mixed another heaping scoop with like 6-8oz of cold water just to get something in my stomach before I went to my first exam. Yesterday I did the same exact thing and pounded it, but yesterday I also ate a muffin after. Today I just went to calss with the hydrowhey in my stomach and everything seemed ok until the end of my exam. I got some pretty crazy stomach rumbles and cramped up a little bit. Almost felt like I had to go to the bathroom. Anyway I grabbed some breakfast and I felt fine. I'm going to try taking it again tonight or tomorrow on an empty stomach to see if its the protein or something else. I have been stressing out lately, not sleeping enough, and not eating great lately because of exams but I'm going home today to I'm back to my normal schedule. Plenty of food sleep and water from here on out.
So here are my stats for today:
Mixability: 10/10 - As with yesterday, hydrowhey has not mixing issues when mixed with cold water in a shaker cup. No lumps, went down easy.
Taste: 10/10 - Nothing real new to report, just that I'm still really satisfied with Turbo Chocolate still. I've seen some threads around here about people who dont like ON's flavors, but this being the first ON product I've tried I'm really happy with it. I've tasted MUCH worse proteins.
Digestibility/ Stomach Issues: 6/10 - As I said above I had some weird stomach cramps, which is weird for me because I can usually handle pretty much anything. Ive never really had problems with supplements, especially not protein. So I'm going to keep an eye on this.
I'll be posting some of my lifting stats and other stuff tonight or tomorrow. Just to make things interesting.

So yesterday I didnt actually have any hydrowhey. I was unpacking all my stuff at home because I'm on winter break from school, so I was pretty busy. I managed to get a great chest and tri's workout in though so I was pretty happy. I also got a few samples of 2:1:1 Recovery from ON so I was taking those after my workout.
Anyway today I woke up early had to help my dad out with some stuff, ate breakfast, and took a little nap. I just had a preworkout shake because I'm getting ready to workout in about two hours.
I decided to mix one scoop of platinum hydrowhey with about 8 oz of ice cold milk this time in a shaker cup. Let me tell you, I'm really impressed with the flavor of this product. If this protein does what its supposed to do, I think its a solid product overall.
Mixability: 10/10 - Even with milk hydrowhey has absolutely no issues mixing. Again the shake was smooth and lump free after shaking for only a few seconds.
Taste: 10/10 - I would like to put 11/10 but you cant really go past 100%. Anyway with milk this stuff tastes exactly like hot chocolate. Its absolutely amazing, one of the best chocolate flavors I've had. ON is really impressing me.
Digestibility/ Stomach Issues: ?/10 - Right now my stomach is fine, but as I said up above sometimes my stomach is a little off after hydrowhey. I ate about two hours ago and I'm about to eat again so my stomach is pretty empty. This will give me a chance to decide whether or not the hydrowhey is causing the cramps or if it was just stress from finals or something else. I'll post later.
Overall I'm pretty happy so far. Glad to have the opportunity to be a tester for this ON product because I think its a great product.

Turns out my stomach was perfectly fine, and I had a great workout. Still loving platinum hydrowhey, had another serving post workout.
Digestibility/ Stomach Issues: 10/10 - Felt much better today maybe because I had eaten fairly recently.

Quick post today, just had a serving of platinum hydrowhey.
Mixed 1.5 heaping scoops of hydrowhey
8 ice cubes
10 oz of skim milk
2 tbsp of peanut butter
wanted to get some extra calories and some good fats with my protein
Mixability: 10/10 - Quality protein powder, Ive had literally no mixing issues at all regardless of what im mixing the powder with. No chunks of powder mixed with peanut butter or anything.
Taste: 10/10 - This is one of my favorite recipes for an in-between meal shake or a post workout shake. Its got all the best stuff, and it tastes great. I used to use a chocolate caramel protein powder but I actually think I like it with Turbo Chocolate better. I'm becoming a big fan of ON's flavors.
Digestibility/ Stomach Issues: 10/10 - Nothing new to report here. I feel full but not overwhelmed by this shake, no stomach cramps or burps or anything haha. Just a good tasting a pretty filling shake.
Overall: Very satisfied. I like trying new recipes and trying new stuff with hydrowhey. Its a very good tasting protein and its very versatile.
Thoughts on Price: I'm temped to buy another tub of platinum hydrowhey after i run out of my current supply but as of right now the high price tag is going to stop me from doing so. However, having this opportunity to try an ON product has left me very impressed. I will most likely be looking to buy ON 100% whey for my next protein. ON is a great company with solid products, great flavors, good customer service, and reasonable prices (for the most part). I'm interested in trying some new flavors in the future.

Sorry its been a hectic few days because of the holiday so i havent been able to post much. Still enjoying my platinum hydrowhey though. Nothing much new to report because as of late i have gotten a little bit lazy with my creativity for recipes. i keep mixing one to two scoops of platinum hydrowhey with 6 to 8 ounces of milk or water in a shaker cup. hands down best most efficient method of consumption. lol. still give mixability, taste, small, consistency, and digestibility all 10/10.
