Very true. I used to have this friend at the gym, his name was Rob. I liked the guy and we were kinda close, but beyond the gym we didn't ever associate. He was also friends with a gym bully Evan, who acted like he owned the place, and somehow managed to get Rob away from me when Evan and I had problems. Rob became indignant, and decided his friendship with Evan was much more important and rewarding than with me, and cut me off. I hated him for it because he was just as bad as Evan in terms of ego, and I eventually told Rob to get lost. Then I started calling him "Copper" because I couldn't get any change out of him. LOL, he hated that. At my last encounter with him, I teased him with a doughnut, tossed into the parking lot and told him to "fetch, @sshole." He mad. I left that gym shortly after because I couldn't take the abuse any more.

I don't understand some people. I got negged SIX TIMES in ONE THREAD from ONE POST for telling people to stop being homophobic. The rep system is so abused here, and now it's made me lose credibility and nobody reads my posts lol.
It makes me sad that BB.com is so homophobic because there's a really large gay Bodybuilding community =\

That's the sad reality I guess, and I'm embarrassed to say that I was once one of the masses. I was largely homophobic until I met Jake (the guy at the gym in my previous posts).
It heavily sat the principles of being "Alpha" and other such nonsense. That being said it's not easy to change? I'm being a huge hypocrite to Jake, I'm still uncomfortable with whole idea that we're "dating" but on the contrary I'm usually the one pushing him on the couch and going on my knees.
It's a public opinion thing? No one likes been ostracized for been involved in what is deemed to be different

Thanks for all the comments guys.
1. I think you are all right that I need to love him regardless
2. I definitely am going to continue listening to his dad on this one - its working!
3. We're both pretty hard headed - I don't want to control him - just want to motivate
4. Original mindset was yeah, he should live in the gym to be scary huge but its just not his thing and I have to learn to accept that.
Side note though:
He works 4 days a week 12 hour shifts. This past weekend he worked out on Friday, Sat and Sunday. We did some rollerblading in the park today cardio ---- although he fell twice and I f-ed up my elbow trying to catch him! I think its all paying off and I think we'll both be on the road to new and improved bodies soon.
Thanks dudes.

I went last year although I'm not into leather at all unless you count Coach or Prada. But the parties are still a lot of fun. It's almost ironic that I even attend since I'm pretty tailored. Sunday's big street fair is a lot of fun. I love daytime parties.
Interestingly, I never went when I lived in SF. Go figure.Manners are free...so use them.

What's your honest motivation for wanting him to work out more? Is he getting out of shape and you're worried his physical state could jeopardize your sexual desire? Or, is it it more about his general heath and time spent together?
I was in this position with my previous LTR and had to have "the talk". You know, where I mentioned that it is the responsibility of each party in a relationship to maintain physical fitness and desirability levels. I just know myself. If he had continued to slide, yes, it would have effected his desirability in my eyes. And I kinda think one's sexlife is often a barometer for the heath of a relationship. If you're not having sex, there are some problems indeed.Manners are free...so use them.

That crazy bitch has done it again.
Did anyone see Lady Kaka at the music awards? She wore a suit sure to piss off PETA - it was made of cuts of meat. What the f*ck man... I wish I lived down the street from her just so that I could stuff coffee grounds in my ears whenever I saw her coming, and maybe she'd get the message. Someone needs to stop her.The thing I like least about the treadmill is that I can't run from my farts. -- Source unknown

how do you hit on a guy you're not sure is gay?
should one always assume a guy is straight? it's really the flamboyant ones that are obviously gay but how do you know whether or not someone is on the DL?*"Soon you'll be ashes, or bones. Depends where you are... if in a gay bar, then I assume all guys are gay (although my luck would find me flirting with the one and only straight guy in there!)
In what are typically straight venues, i assume all the guys are straight.. unless I spot them on Grindr!
I'm sure there are ways around it though, to have a convo where you can suss the guy out as to whether he straight/bi/gay... I'm sure one of the others can give the answer for that tho! Coz I wanna know too, especially as I've been hitting straight venues more often lately.Brit Thread: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=126871353

Oprah
Today is the season premiers of the show's final season. Folks who viewed it live in Chicago said they had tears in their eyes in the first five minutes. I love Oprah.

No doubt. She's so fun and fabulous.
As a matter of fact, I'm going to see her in concert Saturday night. What does one wear to such an event? Do you remember when she wore that dress comprised entirely of Kermit the Frog's dolls? Perhaps I can adorn a simple white t-shirt with something similar as an homage. Thoughts?Last edited by trvlr70; 09-13-2010 at 12:53 PM.

GAGA was on Ellen (season premiere today)
she was wearing the meat suit -- she said it wasn't about vegans or PETA, rather it was about freedoms and being free to be who we are.
Then she went into her support of her gay fanbase -- and she is involved with the support of the Repeal of - Don't Ask Don't Tell
so anyways like it or not GAGA supports you.. lol
All that said... I'm neutral about her music and such don't have any of her songs or albums -- but I don't "dislike" her music -- she seems like a good gal..and she sure has figured out how to be sucessful
