this pain in my left shoulder/back

it feels like its in the back of the shoulder toward back/trap area (shoulder blade area), so now i had inflammation during presses in that side, but now when i do back i get it also. i feel it when i do pullups now. the whole pain that bearable runs down to my hands it seems like when its inflammed. what is going on? so im gonna go back to the surgeon that fixed my labrum tear on my right shoulder and hes prob gonna think wow now your left one is messed up. how the hell does someone get both shoulders messed up? this is the worst luck what did i do to my body? i lift heavy and i thought my body can take it. should i just ice it after the gym to keep inflammation down? how to do u ice if it goes all the way down the arm.

    NEVER MOVE INTO PAIN!
icing is just an anesthetic. and temporary as a result

i really hate to say this, but if there's pain don't do it - this doesn't mean stop the thing, but it does mean
    1) reduce the range of motion or
    2) reduce the load or
    3) both

so as not to trigger pain
    (info: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...hp?t=120076581)

Pain is a very interesting signal for change. Movement is a very good signal to counter pain events - but only when those movements don't themselves cause pain.

It's not a big surprise that whatever you were doing while your other shoulder was getting repaired has set up some compensations you may not be aware of, and so some problems are emerging.

Pain is a signal for change. Seeing a movement specialist would be a great way to get at resolving an issue that mayn't even be in your shoulder but just showing up there.

PM me with where you live, and i'll recommend someone as near by as i know, if you'd like.

it doesnt happen at the beginning when i start working out. it seems like when my body is getting that pump then that pain onsets. its like a cramp forming with the movement/inflammed. like a tight feeling but i cant stretch that part, its like in the shoulder blade behind my shoulder goin toward middle/trap. i have no idea how i got this. do foam rollers help?

    the advice above helps

    foam rollers are
    a) manual therapy where you're doing something TO your body, rather than your body being ACTIVE and doing something
    b) the site of pain is not the source of pain: beating up on a pain point to get something to let go that may be rightfully holding you back from more harm is a false economy
    c) never move into pain.

really, see someone or you're just hacking around, guessing wasting time and money and cycles you could be out of pain and feeling fab and working out again.

along with seeing someone, i'd encourage you get a regular mobility work program going.
this is a great program (link) - more about why - check out the move or die link in my sig.

i have stopped doing all flyes now, since that bothers my shoulder. i did chest yesterday and today, i feel my left shoulder like a little inflammed and runs down to the top of my hand. my right shoulder feels nice and relaxed. the left one does not feel the same.

    Nerve glides should help:
    http://www.handhealthresources.com/S.../Exercises.htm

    Now, question:

Try the sleeper stretch -- how far can get your arm from totally touching the ground?

What type of labrum injury did you have? posterior tear? In all likelyhood if you had it on one side, and you haven't done anything to change up your routines then it's probably the same thing on the left.

What are you doing for workout routines (list every exercise and rep)?

Focus on reducing inflammation with rest, massage, and fish oil. Like MC said keep it moving, but NOT painful movement.

We'll see if we can figure it out.
