how do they differ?
in high school, i got mostly A's and i didn't even try, had only one C during senior year, had a gpa of 3.7+
in college, i started gettting a lot of b's with some A's and a few c's here and there....got focused the last few semesters and started getting more A's than b's but my gpa is still below 3.5
feels bad man.

Didn't finish highschool. I hated waking up to go someplace that sucked 5 days a week, doing work I didn't care about, and being around people I didn't like. I stopped going beginning of junior year. In uni I have a 3.75

High scool - didn't think about the future / care at all = 2.7
Went to community college for a year, thought "wow where the hell is going to a community college going to get me in life? Mentality changed, got a 3.7 that year, now at university aiming for a 3.3 this semester, want to keep 3.5+ and go to grad school

a community college can actually get you goin places. Plenty of them have programs that offer on-the-job training or at least stuff you need to know (and a piece of paper) to differentiate yourself in the job market. Then some got programs where you get in the medical field and can make a pretty comfortable living for yourself.

Highschool gpa: 1.6 (srs)
college gpa:3.4 (but expect to graduate next semester w/ honors)
accelerated nursing program: (???)
it's all about the effort you put into your work. Still have no idea how I got that gpa in hs. I'm Asian too. Class rank was like 200 out of 214. It should give anyone hope that they can bounce back from crappy high school grades.Last edited by bernbabybern820; 12-10-2009 at 10:20 PM.
Im not afraid to die on a treadmill. I wont be outworked. I will run.Period.You may be more talented than me, you may be smarter than me and all those things, but if we get on the treadmill, your goin to get off first or Im goin to die. Its that simple. The commodity that I see in most people that arent getting to the places they want or arent achieving the things they want is strictly based on hustle, based on being outworked, strictly based on missing the right opportunities.

I got straight As and a scholarship to Uni in Leaving Certificate, state examination after "high school".
My first year of law I was lucky to make 1 lecture per week, had horrible depression and drinking problems and never worked. Scraped a 2:2 in 1st year exams, narrowly passing 2 subjects.
Second year I copped onto myself and got a few 1sts and 2:1s, except land law, which I despised and did **** in.
Finals was on course for 1st in year with high 1st then let my foot off the pedal.
The main difference for me is that you know what is expected in exams in school, and especially in Maths and science there is little or no interpretation. In law the questions can be vague, one lecturer could want something different to another in an answer, the external marker could want something else.
I have always gotten 1sts though in large essays and my thesis as these had a well defined question and enough room to flesh out all my arguments.Carlsberg don't do sexy, but if they did...

was running with the wrong people in high school and generally didn't give a shit about anything.. graduated with a 2.3
cc for 2 years = 3.8
2 years in university = 3.5 overall GPA
now in grad school.
if i could go back i'd slap myself in high school. i had SAT scores to qualify for 100% tuition scholarships anywhere in the state, but my gpa was a 2.3....
