besides the fact that the ottoman empire ruled Albania for close to 500 years (15th century to 1912) people still seem to forget. kind of funny how people tend to pass judgment on issues that infact are irrelevant and untrue simply based on what they are told when they absolutely have no real knowledge on the actual truth.

In all seriousness, I love reading about Eastern European culture. Can't wait to visit. Beautiful women, great food (from what I've had) and the landscape looks very picture-esque as well. My only caveat is that way too many Eastern Euro's are ridiculously nationalistic and constantly look down on other cultures. I have friends who are Serb and Albanian who won't even make an effort to be civil to each other just because *their parents* are from Serbia and Albania.

Been there, Albanians, while ther are exceptions, are the fugliest women in the balkans, and in fact all eastern europe by a factor of 10.
