if I am eating cold cuts, should I drink a lot of water to offset the sodium intake?
I eat Boar's Head cold cuts (turkey, chicken) because they are very easy to make a sandwhich with and I am always in a rush. I know that they are salted for preservatives, so what I am thinking is that as long as I take in enough water and keep my self hydrated, then the sodium intake is offset. Is this logical?

Shouldnt be an issue if you are drinking enough water to flush it out. They also have low sodium deli meats at my grocer, check if they have it at yours

Yes, I agree with above poster, it should not be a problem if you are drinking enough water. I generally recommend 4-8 L to induce cell volumization. Good luck.

So far everyone is dead on.
Your local deli meats will have less sodium and in some cases actually be cheaper then packaged meats. I guess the onle downside is that deli meats won't last you as long.

not sure about that, from what I've seen they put just as much or more in them... they might be *fresher* but... they don't care much about health lol. whole foods perhaps or boars head low sodium could be ok. I thought this for awhile to until I did some asking around.

Healthy Choice Turkey Breast is lower in sodium if I remember correctly, its one of the best tasting IMO. You can get it at the Deli.
