Exclamation How much food & water can the stomach hold ?

Is there a website that shows how much food can be held in the stomach and a visual animation of what happens when the stomach is overfed so much food v.s. the one of a normal stomach that is fed in moderation then one stomach that is underfed. Links please ?

Reps given out and much appreciated as this is a very important topic and one that needs to be seen visually to get the big picture for some-one please ?

This thread not only will assist another people in getting the big picture. Thank you.

Depends on the person, there's no hard number. You can "train" or "stretch" your stomach to hold more food at one time (see competitive eating for extreme examples of stomach stretching)

That is true, although not what is needed. Please re-read then post the proper links.

7 liters, and some super eaters like the guy on man vs food can hold up to 11 liters.

i remember seeing a special on a purging bulemic chick who died when her stomach exploded @ 16 liters.

fyi those big bottles of soda at grocery stores are 2 liters. imagine drinking 8 of those and you'd know how she felt before she died

I don't even know how you could get 16 litres down thats insane. I'd puke after 1 litre even if I just ran for 30 minutes with no water.

If after long periods with an expanded stomach. Does the stomach return to its original size or does it take longer for the stomach to heal and return to normal size ?

I know this is common-sense but need medical links please ?
