    How bad is a night of no sleep for bodybuilding?

    Well it's 5 AM atm and first time in a while I haven't been able to get to sleep. I have recently started a new routine where I'm hitting each bodypart twice a week so I really need my recovery. Thing is I was meant to go see Zombieland with a few friends at 11.30. What should I do misc? I can either Roll up a phat blunt get high which will put me too sleep and get my 8 hours for growth or not attempt to sleep and see the movie? What do you think misc. Oh yea how bad is a night of no sleep for training?

    Yea but I'm really dedicated about my training and if I **** up on something like this i get pissed of at myself. i just finished school so i got plenty of time 2 socialise. dunno tho

    If you aren't planning on competing in anything bodybuilding/strength related in the near future I don't see any reason to stay home all the time. Dedication is an awesome trait, but lifting shouldn't get in the way of a good time, do your workouts and eat your food and do what you want. You have your whole life to get in shape.

    Um I haven't heard of anything major imo, some say it's positive for bulking cos of munchies, i'm not the right person to answer this though. I don't drink cos of training tho because it suppresses certain hormones which help with growth etc

    I am an architecture student and I pull all nighters regularly, upto 2-3 times a week during the weeks leading up to finals.

    I know that it is completely terrible for me, I feel like absolute **** all week, I have no energy, I eat **** food to keep me going, I do not make it to the gym........

    i dont see how is this relevant to this thread, but in a quick answer, it's very very difficult to gain solid muscle mass without gaining some fat with it.
    not impossible, but takes number of factors genetics, dedication or simply chemical assistance

    As I always say. WTF is with you young guys always thinking that if you screw up every now and then you will lose all your gains. My little brother hurt his back really bad and has only lifted a few times in the last 1.5 years and he still has 18" arms.

    He's 23. 6ft tall. Been lifting since he was 12. And his body fat is up a bit right now. If he was cut they would be 17" ish. He weighs 225 i think

    I read an article with Bob Chicarillo and he said that no matter how much you are into lifting. Never let it get in the way of going out with friends or taking a girl out on a date. At least sometimes.

    btw, if you're gonna pull an all nighter I would say its ok to train the day after, if you feel up to it. Just make sure you get an early night's sleep after training. Ive done that PLENTY of times.
