My biceps have always been very responsive to training. I think they are TOO responsive... sort of on the out-of-proportion side. I work triceps hard and really enjoy training shoulders. I know I have body fat covering my arms so they're not going to "look" toned until I solve that part of the equation.
Here's my question: Would it be a mistake to only train my biceps indirectly, as part of compound exercises rather than isolating them through curls?
Also, I'm interested to know what hammer curls do... is it a shaping exercise?
Thanks all!

My arms aren't increasing in size but they still look firm. Whenever I trained biceps with curls before, I always had increase in size, which I didn't want. Thank you! I will keep this up.
