Don't know if you guys caught the memorial show for Captain Phil last night.
But in the clips they had an awesome quote of his...

Dang, what happened while I was at work last night? The ramble took off.
Not much going on except work here. Although, I think I'm about to convert a "butch" lady at the gym. She's been eye balling me for the last w 2 workouts. LOLMy current log

A step backwards is better than a setback.
If this (insert whatever trivial thing that is upsetting me) is the worst thing to happen today, I'm going to have a great day.

Yeah that was too bad.
I've watched 3 people die from strokes... So I kind of knew it was coming when he started getting better so much faster.
The people I've seen survive strokes go down and then slowly rally back. The guys who get better real fast and everyone gets their hopes up... It just ends up being a clot moving on to nuke another part of the brain even worse than before.
Same thing like the "Super Grip Scene" and how he was always moving his right side when they were telling him to move his left, is just the brain over flowing. When the brain tells the left side to do something and it doesn't the motor neurons act like it's a double strength message to the right.6'4"

I've seen an awful lot worse than that man. Strokes run in my family more than anything else, short of drowning, dieing of thirst or being burned to death at the stake type of thing... I really think it's like the worst way to die.
Just lingering in agony for days unable to take care of your basic functions while you helpless watch everyone you love breaking down and getting ripped to pieces as they watch you suffer and die.
Right up until he died Phil, functions wise was still a little bit on the nicer side of Horrible.
My wife's Grandpa's stroke, he was completely lucid, but trapped in his own body unable to swallow even water without almost choking to death on a teaspoon. Then all of a sudden he'd come out of it and he'd be there... Everyone would get their hopes up for like 3-4 hours... And then back to the bottom again.
Over and over again on that roller coaster for 9 days.6'4"

Yeah in the fall on Football Sundays, my buddy's and I will go out at Half time of every game, and we'll just pick the most snarled up, knotty, off balance log. Then we'll turn it into a game to see who's swing actually splits it.
When it's softwood... No big... Last year's Oak Pile... Whew that was a wiper!6'4"

Strokes are horrible.
My MIL had hers 5 yrs ago. She is right behind me watching TV. She has trouble walking, talking, and eating (swallowing). She can't use her right arm at all. But, her mind and her hearing are perfect. And, she is the nosiest person in the world. LOL
If Shelia and I are in the other room talking (or anything else) she turns off the TV to be able to hear us. Thank God she has trouble talking. She use to be the biggest gossip in the county. My current log
