Smile What is this strap for?

At the local apartment gym I go to, there is this odd strap, maybe two feet long, 4 inches wide, and an inch thick of padding with even longer strapping with rings on the end...to be attached onto the Hoist 4600 multi stack gym they have.

Problem is is I have no idea what it is for. Well, I thought you can wrap it around your chest and do ab crunches while sitting in the vertical, bench-press imitating, exercise.

    Any ideas?

Is it one of the straps you make an X around your body with and attach weight to it so you don't get yanked around when doing intense weight over your body weight on cables?

I can't picture how you explained it.

I think it's for quadriceps now...wrap it around and then pull up thigh as if you're walking up a step.
