    Mononucleosis

Any experience to share about returning to training after getting mono?

Got sick a month ago, was in the hospital all of halloween weekend, lost a bunch of weight (25lbs in 4 days, back up 10lbs now to just under 210lbs)...now i started working out again about a week and a half later, higher reps lower weight, was really tired but it wasnt going too bad
Ive been recovering really quick but after my workouts my abs were sore as hell even though i didnt really hit them, was avoiding squats, dl, bench until just over 3 weeks in

now after squatting heavy, my abs feel like **** and my stomach feels all ****ed up and im kind of paranoid since ive had a linguinal hernia and im getting some pain/soreness down there, mostly my lower abs are hurting/really sore

any advice on returning to the gym after getting mono? thanks

Take it slow man. Ramp up to full volume over the course of a month. Not a bad idea to take extra rest days here and there if you need to.

Better to take it very slow then set yourself back significantly.
