First I'd like to apologize for the second thread in just a few weeks. I don't plan on making a new thread in this section for awhile so please don't hate! (and if I do I'll just make a training video thread at that time)
Today was my last day of smolov. I filmed my last three sets of 500 x 4. Let me know what you think. Thanks!
Very nice, if I were to say one thing I'd say you shaved too much off your max for the start of the intense phase
I dunno if you'd be saying that if you saw some of my other days! Today was one of my best days for sure. But you are still right I think I did cut it a little low. But I wanted to make sure I finished. Next time I run it I won't be so conservative.
Oh and don't know if you are aware or not but the 220lb total record just got rebroke this past weekend. I believe its at 1668 right now? Light weight
The sound of plates rattling is a gift from God....er the spaghetti monster.
Is your best DL still 555? I remember you saying your arms are short for your height, so it makes sense that your deadlift is neck and neck with your squat.

You know, just another couple extra pounds to add to the challenge.
I figure mid year I'll hopefully be able to go 600/400/727 and weigh about 215 instead of my scrawny ass 202
Team Super Awesome!
There is no such thing as 'strong enough'
PL:565/385/716
If hard work pays off then easy work is worthless.
Take a look at what I did, now imagine what I'm about to do

my wingspan is the same as my height 6'1. I SHOULD be better at deadlift than I am. I also haven't done any deadlifting since starting Smolov. I think I'll test my pull on Friday after squats. Oh and my best pull is 562 at nationals, my best lift in a gym is 555, I pull better in competition

those would be HUGE numbers, I'm thinking 600/424/600 shouldn't be a problem in march, if I learn to deadlift I can give a run at 1670
Colour me impressed. Beastly squatting. With regards to your wingspan... Are you broad shouldered? Obviously the broader your shoulders are the better you are at benching and worse at deadlifting.

I'm not sure what is considered broad shouldered. I would say I am a little bit ya. That could explain it! Oh and I've been reading Westsides book of methods you sent, great read! Also browsed the reactive training methods, that looked pretty interesting as well and kind of what I am looking for! I plan on doing a very close reading of that in the next couple days.

Wow, thanks for the compliment! I'm not a great squatter yet, but hope to be there someday! I was a good squatter in high school, then became a good bencher in college. And having experience being both I'd definitely have to say good squatter is much more fun than being a good bencher, and I'm quickly working back to being a good squatter. Maybe one day I'll be a good deadlifter? HA!
