    Walls hate to be ignored.

For me, hitting a wall is my signal that it's time to step away for a bit and take a break. Sometimes I have to force it, but it's time to let my mind and body rest up for a while.

I take the time off to reevaluate my diet, see if there are any changes I'd like to make, or should make, or anything I'd like to try differently. Reevaluate my workout program, see if there are any changes I'd like to make here or try differently as well.

When the time is right I go back and the wall is gone.

take a week, eat whatever, avoid the gym, meditate, do anything but, then spend a day re-evaluate everything you are doing and try something new

Take some time to rest up. Then hit the gym harder after about a week

Try a completely different exercise program, even if it's just for maitenance, for a while.

I had to have a fitness assessment (aka "personal training sessions sales pitch") for insurance reasons (so they say) when I renewed my gym membership. The trainer ran me through a brutal calisthenics routine, I'm normally a weights/cardio guy but I can definately see myself getting into some calisthenics when the fat loss stalls.
