How do boxers get such great physiques. I mean how do they get so cut...they train all day long but yet still keep the muscle. From what I gather on this forum is that it is not good to do to much cardio because of the risk of muscle loss. Boxers however run miles in the mornings and then train all day and lift occasionally. Some middle weight boxers dont lift at all and they are still ripped. How do they do it and more importantly how do they keep the muscle.

Manny Pacquiao (144 pounds) ate 8000 calories a day when he was training to fight cotto.....the guy is ripped like crazy, not one part of his body was fat.
But from a boxing perspective, when they do strength training, they train for strength, not hypertrophy (how many boxers do you see have huge arms, chest, quads etc?), excess muscle mass is useless (slowness, weight category issues etc. Therefore, they dont need to maintain the extra muscle mass.
