    surgery and stopping supplements

    Hey ladies how far before surgery would you stop beta alanine and creatine?

    I would say... yes. I wouldn't take anything 2 weeks prior to surgery. For any surgery I have had they recommend I not take anything other than prescriptions for 2 weeks before. You don't want to have any interactions. If you are not wanting to stop, then I would consult your doc... at minimum make sure he's aware you are using it. Not worth the risk!

    Talk to your doctor. Neither should interfere with surgery and creatine is used medicinally after some major surgeries. Not to mention both are in whole food sources and neither affect blood thinning/clotting Either way, just do as the doctor recommends.

    this. Creatine and Beta alanine shouldn't be an issue, but check with your physician anyway.

    And speaking of blood thinners --> one thing you do want to do is to make sure to stop any fish oils - it thins the blood.

    This is probably a stupid question but what about protein powder? Is that okay to take before surgery?
