Sounds like you had a lovely weekend Nothing like spending some time out with people and relaxing/socializing for a change! I find it's a nice pick-me-up
OOoh, fried twinky! I didn't know such things existed!!!!
All this hair talk has made me wonder about my own for the past few days lol! I love it blond, but am dying to get it back to a nice light brown with highlights! Ahhhhhh, that would be so nice! Someday!
My diet resumes tomorrow- I'm going to make a point to move more too! I'm never going to stop! And stand and fidget every time I think about it

It was needed for sure, even drank 4 beers Saturday I need to get out of the house more until I get another job, it's hard to find anything that I qualify for without going back to jobs that I hate doing sigh.
Light brown with some golden highlights would look awesome on you! It's hard to make the decision though once you've had it a certain way for so long
I think I will make it to the gym today... inspired to go do something anyway lol. Whats the point in losing weight if I don't preserve what muscle I have underneath. I'm still torn between recomp and weight loss though, now that I have a complete gym at my disposal I really want to make this time count. Maybe once I am back down to 135lbs, hmm I hate being indecisive.

You could still build muscle while losing fat by eating at a deficit, but if you feel like you can push yourself more in the weight room with more food in you/can stick to it easier- recomping would work well too I think though with where you are- the most important thing is to keep progressing with your lifts- then no matter how much you're eating (maintenance or below) you'll still see changes I think though you'd see faster weight loss and be happier sooner by continuing the diet! Unless it's killing you!

I think I will continue dieting until about 130lbs and then jump on a recomp, I have a feeling 10lbs won't make to much of a difference but if it gets me back into my clothes I'll take it.
Yesterday I had a horrible time at the gym. I actually went, did a ten minute warm up on the elliptical and I guess while I was on that thing 5 billion people showed up in the free weight section. I was going to do 5-3-1 OHP with accessory work but umm, I don't know where in a gym is appropriate to do those. They had seated stations that where all taken, a squat rack where this guy had a BB loaded with plates resting on the floor in front of it, I guess he was using it. There maybe a power rack not sure. Note to self do not go at 3pm apparently that's when it starts getting busy.
I have never done compound BB exercise in a gym, it has always been in my home gym where everything was loaded and done in the squat rack. I feel like a freaking moron not knowing where to do these things
Edit: Forgot to put that I had a borderline panic attack and left. I am soooooo pathetic

Awww, I'd be like that too. I'm lost on my own lol! Every time I do manage to go to the gym it's usually with Stephen and sometimes our friend, so we pretty much dominate it. We're like that. But our gym is mostly empty. It was funny when we all went to the one at the Y where we worked. Everyone was staring at us like we were crazy, I thought it was funny
But if I was in a huge crowded gym by myself I'd probably stand there and look around and be like "...ahhhh...." and probably would have headed for the machines So much different when you're alone in an unfamiliar place! You're not pathetic- I'd call you normal It'll be like that the first few times, but as you become more familiar with it- things will get better, I'm sure! I imagine 3:00 is probably one of the busiest times, too. I swear though- you remind me so much of myself!

I felt lost and so out of place, I would have done the machines but couldn't even bring myself to do it. This is where you hop on a flye machine (or leg extension, or pulldowns, or whatever gives you a view of how the free weight section is laid out) and see what people are doing where.
Then you just go for it. Yes, it kind of sucks, but you can't get started until you ... get ... started. Go do it. After the first time it'll be much less big of a deal.
Or you use my line: "Do I really think that I'm sooooo important and such the center of the universe that everyone will stop what they are doing and stare at me while I wander around the weight room? Jeez, I have a big ego!" hehe.
And use whatever piece of equipment you need to get the job done. For OHP, you could probably (I don't know what your numbers are) use the preloaded barbells (lots of people use them for curls) and a patch of open floor. However, IMO, if no one is using a power cage, it's totally appropriate to use it for whatever you need.

I've never used a power rack before The vids that I watched on youtube had most people in the squat rack, I don't know whats worse curling in the squat rack or pressing lol. Right now I'm working with 45-50lbs and it will increase next week. I didn't see preloaded but then again I was not looking for them either lol.
To be honest most people don't notice me to begin with sooooo.... why would they start at the gym. Good point there, I usually just try to stay under radar in most situations.

Sometimes it helps too when you look around at people and realize that more than half of them have no clue what they are doing But it gets easier the more you go. I was super paranoid my first few times going, but after that I felt a lot more comfortable working out in public.

It's totally scary being in a new place, but look at it like a new challenge. Take your time getting used to the new gym, even if it is only machines/cardio for a few days. I know you are excited to get back on your program though!
You're from NM? I was born in Las Cruces... grew up in Colorado though.

Yeah, not making that mistake again lol. It was slow when I walked in and then BAM! People everywhere and I was like how the fark did that happen. I think I will stick with going at 10am or so, didn't seem to busy at that point. I wish I could have a good pissed of look, I'm really a very nice person.
Ah yes because they are lifting so much weight with that curl that they need the safeties on the squat rack. Thank must be it

Yesterday I really appreciated IF for the simple fact that I went to Hooters and ate 30 naked wings with 3 mile island sauce and still came under on calories Seriously though a naked wing is like 34cals and the sauce is 5cals per ounce and it doesn't stick to the wing like it does the breaded ones. I estimated 1020 for the wings and about 60 cals for the sauce, I don't dip my wings in anything, so no extra cals there and two bud light platinums for a grand total of 1354cals, I also did a protein shake at home for 180cals so 1534 with 2047 burned for yesterday not to bad at all. Don't worry I ate a bunch of veggies too celery at the restaurant and a huge salad with no dressing at home. Will I do that again? Probably not but it goes to prove you can fit anything into your diet lol.

Food talk!
I am in need of a greasy ass cheeseburger with a Side of fries ASAP!
Never been to hooters though
How'd the hair come out?
That does sound good... mmm cheeseburger drool...
Hooter's is good for certain things, went out with hubby and a friend from his work so didn't have much choice.
Hair turned out... not so great. Not really in love with it and is way to dark for it to be in the blonde family. Might do another color removal and try a medium golden blonde and see what happens.

Nice workout! Was that a gym one or an apartment one??
Awesome job at fitting that meal in- sounds delicious! I love IF for that reason! Makes it much easier to stick to your diet when you go out!
Did you dye your whole head or just the parts that were a different color??
Twas an apartment one but I think I'm over my gym phobia.
I love fitting stuff in, all it takes is a little planning and you don't have to suffer while dieting.
I striped the color out of my hair and probably should have done a second treatment so it would apply evenly. Oh well, I'm ridiculously close to dying it black again

It was nice having someone to chat with that actually got what I was talking about. I didn't have anyone in NM that I could seriously lift with, hubby sticks to machines and all my friends either don't workout or they loves them some cardio. The nice thing about 5-3-1 is if I ran it since Monday it would have been bench day anyway so it worked out nicely. Now I have a good feel for the free weights and don't feel like such a dork walking around. Still seriously impressed with beatha's lifts, made 135lb bench look easy. Must get dieting phase over with so I can eat and make some gains...

Ok ladies and gents, I'm back and ready to get this show on the road. Well I was on the road for over 13 hours this weekend and don't really want to be again... Anyhoo this lifting show on the road . Today I think I will do a posterior chain workout. I'm thinking of a scheme like this:
Romanian Deadlifts: 4 sets of 8-12
Pull Throughs: 4 sets of 8-12
Goodmornings: 4 sets of 8-12
HGR's: (if I can manage to do these)
Back Extensions: 4 sets of 8-12

I got some funny looks with the Romanians and good morning's lol. I looked in the mirror to check form and looked ok Oh well, I think I hit the PS chain pretty good with this workout Since I wasn't able to do pull throughs I will move those to squat day to replace ham curls. Tomorrow is overhead press and accessory work.
The drive to NM started out kinda rough. After my workout with B I needed to get something to eat before we headed out, so I thought a Chipotle rice bowl would be perfect. I get me a steak, veggie and rice bowl with some salsa and cheese bowl, not bad macro wise and it tasted great. We picked up Jim's friend who is form NM and in the apprenticeship program with him ( the whole reason we had to go back was for their monthly class) and head out. If you are disturbed by potty talk and humor you may want to skip over this part...
We get to Payson which is about 90 miles outside of Phoenix. I get hit bad with the need to go, luckily we were stopped at a Wendy's so there was a bathroom right there. I think to myself well the worst is over and I'm good, felt fine too. About 30 miles out of Payson I get hit again, I really needed to go. I start sweating, guts cramping pretty bad. Thankfully there was a country/bait store that was open and I barely made it. The scene from Bridesmaids where the bride is running across the street trying to get to the restroom, in a several thousand dollar gown, chanting "its happening, it's happening... it happened" played through my mind. I was fine after that, until we are only 50 miles from Albuquerque and there was nothing to stop into. I have no idea what made me so sick, the Chipotle wasn't even that hot and I didn't suffer from downing 30 hot wings with 3 mile island sauce that Wed which as a lot spicier. I'm from New Mexico for love of capsaicin! I have eaten salsa with ghost chili in it and didn't suffer the wrath that I did with that Chipotle The lesson learned: Never eat Chipotle before a road trip.
Anywhoo, Sat night we go to a local bar and invite a bunch of friends and family so we can see everyone while we are there. Jim's brother-in-law and niece show up and we're drinking and having a good time. Some of the girls including our niece were drinking coconut margaritas and she offered some to Jim. All I hear is "Can I lick your rim?", everyone stops and looks at him like WTF
Brother-in-law was first like this:
Then he was all:
Apparently there was a sugar and coconut mixture on the rim of the glass and he had a poor choice of words when asking if he could try it lol. The drive back wast pretty uneventful, though there was a huge controlled burn outside the city when we got back in.
For those who are curious about the movie scene here it is.
