There seems to be a small wave of GH boosters out at the mo, which if they work is great! but, i was wondering if any data or bloods have been taken pre and post these products to demonstrate they work. I know a 1 off GH level can't be taken like with test but it does worry me that these will be just like all the older generation of test boosters claiming 2000% increase in test without any hard data to back it up besides anecdotal opinions.
The claims for some products include;
'Every component of this revolutionary formula either directly or indirectly promotes testosterone and/or HGH production, while also triggering powerful fat-burning mechanisms.* The result? Everything you want: Massive increases in muscle size, strength, leanness and density!'
''* Increases the output of growth hormone and local IGF-1 levels
* Increases the duration/viability of growth hormone pulse mass
* Increases androgen receptor structure, function, and number
* Increases natural production of testosterone''
I'm not trying to bash these products but just wanting to know whether anyone seen any data for their claims.

do any of the OTC GH boosters have any genuine data/bloods to support their claim?

''Serum GH levels were measured via bloodwork (Lab Corp?) on two separate days, after an overnight fast. Serum GH levels were measured with (Test) and without (Baseline) having taken the supplement, with serum GH being measured at time (t)= -15, 45, 90, and 150 min''
well, its better than a 1 off reading but from my understand a day curve would be truly representative. The study is only in 3 men which doesnt really mean anything
HOWEVER, it is interesting and is definitely a step in the right direction to finally get some data on GH boosters and a big thanks for AppNut testing it
NB: not sure how safe it is to supplement with l-dopaLast edited by mark118; 11-25-2009 at 05:27 AM.

you are sort of correct, because of the time of day and pulsatile nature of GH release, 1 off or even 4-5 measurements within the 2 hour window dont mean much (eg it could lower even more so than normal after this surge, we dont know).
hence why a 24hr regular blood sampling would be most definitive to show that these products work and finally convince people like me that they actually have an effect on GH levels, and not just anecdotal viewpoints** I rep back **

Nobody peer reviewed your post either, eh?
Where did you hear this exactly? Just curious.
I believe the draws were every 15 minutes. We will most likely pursue further in depth testing in the future following the release of another product or 2 currently in the works. 24 hr sampling would be nice..... but very difficult to accomplish. I sure as hell am not fasting that long for it. lol
Further details regarding our study will be released. Yes, only 3 subjects..... but it was a simple first step in the testing process. (GH was rising the entire 150 minute period, and PEAKED at the 150 minute mark. It probably continued rising). Data was positive enough to point us in the right direction on conducting further studies. The greatest obstacle to discovery is not ignorance- it is the illusion of knowledge.

Personally, I have no idea when it would have truly reached peak. That's a good question though..... I'll see if rms80 has any hypotheses on this.
The level at the 150 minute mark was impressive enough to ensure that once we get things squared away with our other upcoming products, we will go back and conduct further, in-depth testing. I am considering putting myself out there for a much longer fasting period in order to get a wider timeframe of sampling. It'll suck at the time, but will be worth it in the end.The greatest obstacle to discovery is not ignorance- it is the illusion of knowledge.

Even though 2.5hrs of tests can suggest but not conclusively show whether a product works might be the case here... BUT I think the most important thing is that APP Nut has taken step that far too many supp companies wont, actually testing their products and reporting it

Can someone define 'overnight fast'?
I always consider that 12 hours, then plus the 2.5 hours of testing, thats 14.5 hours without food.
I (and many others) could never go 14.5 hours without food consistently and expect to hold my weight. (you try maintaining 999lbs!)
Having a shake or a meal / milk and cookies / etc prior to bed, then ingesting the supplement with a modest breakfast (shake / couple eggs / cheerios / etc) and dosing the product and testing to see how greatly the effects were blunted (or not) would be of massive interest to me. Plus that would show how it compares to the real deal (injected Hgh).
But I applaud the study despite its limited nature, its more than 99% of other supps have. The Dark Knight...Rises.
