An entire workout is 75 reps ayylmao
Even worse is the people recommending a 1k surplus when your total lifting time for the week is barely an hour and half lol.On dat dere cutting time

So you start people on lifts that aren't very close to their max to increase strength? I've been doing 5x5 but also doing my 1 rep max each time I lift. Sometimes my 1 rep max and then pyramiding down.

I've always wondered why 5 x 5 was considered a beginner program. I didn't run it until I got close to intermediate level (what I am now) because it is so draining both physically and psychologically. Many of the old timers, Reg Park for example, used 5 x 5 frequently and made incredible gains on it. No clue why the program gets so much criticism. It's decent.
