Colleges don't give a **** about grades really. Once you meet their minimum scores for GPA and ****, they don't look at it again. After that, they're looking to see if you offer diversity to their school. Chances are they already have a white guy or two from the same background, with the same grades, who did the same activities as you, from the same area. Thats why you didn't get in.
You can wait for tomorrow, I gotta make it happen.

the first time i've ever done this...
age:16
your what a sophomore? you don't really know what your talking about (fully) you are right that they're looking at diversity, but not neccesarily in the way your saying. they're looking to see your grades (most importantly your ACT/SAT) colleges don't seem to care too much about GPA unless its just really bad but ACT/SAT is big. the next thing they look at is extra curriculars like did you do a lot of volunteer work? did you compete in any school related competitions, such as sports, or were you apart of clubs? (science, beta) colleges want people that make there schools look better and are involved.

What he said.
But seriously what ELSE do you have to show for yourself?
Most colleges don't give a **** about grades if you don't have any interesting and unique extracurriculars and if your essay sucked.
My GPA was 3.2 but my essay rocked the ****ing house. Plus I had 64 hours of community service under my belt. I worked with nontypically developing children (what most people call mentally disabled) for a year.
I got into every school I applied to. OP, if you don't wind up going anywhere next year, do extracurriculars, especially good ones that help the community. That **** matters."Life's not a bitch. Junior. Been through the process with several cousins and my sister. Several colleges are not even looking at the SAT anymore. Like I said, once you make the minimum GPA needed its basically ignored. Otherwise you're basically saying the exact same thing in more specific terms, except excluding the fact that race, social class, and geographic position do actually matter.
You can wait for tomorrow, I gotta make it happen.

honors classes are factored in as 0.5 above what they would be
AP are 1.0 over
if you got a 4.2 and an 1120 on your SATs then you probably go to a pretty awful school..
are you from the south?
i have a 3.2 and I got a 750 ( same thing as a 1750 they just subtract 1000 for some reason) on the PSAT sophomore year, but since my school is really hard and we have a mad good rep I can get into a school where the mean gpa is about 3.5-3.6Will you still rep me when I'm no longer age:20 and aesthetic?

Ok this is how gpa is counted in my school and as it should all over the us
AP 100-98=5.0 97-93=4.7 92-90=4.5 89-87=4.3 86-83=4.0 82-80=3.7 79-77=3.5 76-73=3.2 72-70=2.7 69-65=2.2 F=0
Honors 100-98=4.5 97-93=4.2 92-90=4.0 89-87=3.8 86-83=3.5 82-80=3.2 79-77=3.0 76-73=2.7 72-70=2.2 69-65=1.7 F=0
CP1 100-98=4.0 97-93=3.7 92-90=3.5 89-87=3.3 86-83=3.0 82-80=2.7 79-77=2.5 76-73=2.2 72-70=1.7 69-65=1.2 F=0
CP2 100-98=3.5 97-93=3.2 92-90=3.0 89-87=2.8 86-83= 2.5 82-80=2.2 79-77=2.0 76-73=1.7 72-70=1.2 69-65=0.7 F=0
that's how you get a above 4.0 gpa.Now/ Goal

How could he get a 4.2 if he took retard classes? In order to get above a 4.0, you need to take upper level classes.
And an 1120 isn't THAT bad, assuming he means out of 1600, which he probably does, you dumb ***gots.
OP: I know people who got into UCF and USF with lower GPAs and SAT scores than me. Most of them were minorities... Those schools really aren't that great, and FIU isn't too bad from what I've heard. Did you apply to FAU? And even if you don't get into a university, going to a community college for two years and then transferring really isn't that bad. The tuition is lower, and it's a lot easier to transfer from a community college to a university than it is to get into a university fresh out of high school. In fact, I think public universities are required to accept people who received an AA from a community college, provided their GPA is high enough.Last edited by xTASTYKAKESx; 11-20-2009 at 09:02 PM.

What's your class rank?
They might look at you like you go to a bullshiit highschool. IDK about the SAT scores, because I took the ACT instead, but a lot of people in here don't know what the hell they're talking about.
As long as those aren't private universities, which i don't think they are, they could give two ****s about diversity most of the time.Oct/Nov Weight loss Challenge
