Running 30 minutes a day will melt my stomach fat?

Hello new here. Let me first say that summer 2008 i began weighing up 220 pounds. That whole summer for about 4 days a week I'd walk on a treadmill going about 4.5 speed for 45 minutes which ended up being about 2.5 miles I'd say. Anyways From then til about November i lost about 50 pounds.

The problem is i lost almost all my fat everywhere except the stomach area. My gut is about 10 times smaller than what it was before but its not flat and i still have a mini gut. How can i get rid of this?

Last week i started running about 30 minutes for 4 days a week at a good pace with sprints at the end. Will that end up burning the stomach fat? I think I end up running about 3 miles when its said and done. My goal is to get abs

Cardio is just another way to increase your calorie deficite. You could as well just eat less and save time *.

*: Doing cardio is good for your cardiovascular health, don't skip it if you want to live a healthy life . If you just want to look good, cardio is not needed.

I;m 5'8 and ending up topping at 240, currently I am at 172...When you run, run in intervals, alterante between low and high intensity,,

Ex. 1 minute as fast you can, 30 minute low intense, then run, etc...

I was running 30 seconsd, 1 minute low intesity, then 45 run, then rest, then 60 run, then rest etc..all the way to 90 seconds, then backwards then I would repeat..

I turned into a cardio freak, I love it...And most importantly you cant spot reduce, your gut will go away last I wear a medium shirts, now and im still struggling with that gut...I should be cool at 160.
i'm just a calf guy living in an ab guy's world...

You just have to keep losing fat. You can't pick and choose where the fat comes from. In your case, like most men, it appears that the gut is last to go.

If you want to lose fat, in order of importance:
    1. diet: keep track of your caloric input; set a calorie goal and meet it
    2. weight training: this is important to ensure you aren't losing muscle
    3. cardio: this is a way of complementing the calories burned in your diet, but cannot replace the dietary approach.

Well, it increases your calorie deficite, so it should make your overall fat loss faster (by a small amount). In the long run you will lose your belly fat.

Do you have a lifting routine? It can make a big difference, especially a good leg workout. Squats and deadlifts are amazing for building muscle and are great for your core as well, which will help show those abs. About 2 years ago I was down to 172lbs (from 225)(lightest I've been since maybe 4th grade, lol) with a flat stomach, would do an ab workout 3-4 times a week while doing cardio 5 times a week with a 3 day lifting circuit, yet I still did not have a total 6-pack by any means. I changed my routine, started a 4 day heavier lifting split, gained 10 lbs, and boom, my abs were there all of a sudden. This is just my experience, but I found that having a good solid lifting routine changes overall body composition like no other.
