interesting.
although small sample size.
and i'd like to see more on whey/casein/blends.regardless of type you would think that 2 sample sizes eating the same amount would gain/lose atleast correlated weight, it seems flawed....at best

I'd take the first study with a grain of salt. The thing is, you wouldn't ingest a high GI meal the same time before a workout that you would a low GI meal. That's my main beef with that one.
As for the WI vs C study, looks interesting. I'd like them to go more in depth on timing there as well. I do think many people underestimate the absorptive state's demands for protien NOW.

The beauty of research, flaws in every study.....They just came acrros to me so I thought I would post them. BluSilver, I agree with you on the timing of the carb meals. I would never have a person take in High GI meal 3 hrs prior to event, maybe 20-30 minutes prior and during but the LOW GI 3-3.5 hrs prior definitely.

It doesn't make sense why they're not more meticulus. I mean, I'd only be researching this type of thing if I were interested in it, and I'd try to assess as many variables as possible.
Then again, there are time, subject, and financial restraints.
I like the 2nd study, though. I probably like it more because it's going with what I've been thinking as of very recently. Which is an example of how many studies are misused lol.

Even if the study addressed every possible angle and answered every possible question, someone would diss it.
This is why there is more to reading studies than just reading one study and reaching a conclusion.
