do you set aside a day to do explosive lifts?

or do you just include them in your regular lifting days?

say you do chest on monday will you include it on that day?

Its recommended to do explosive/power lifts 1-2 sessions a week. Usually a full body exercise. If you are planning on adding them in, you would want to them them first because its riskier. Even though the frequency of power is 1-2 sessions a week, when i was in wrestling, we did explosive training about 5 times a week.

Right now with what I'm setting up (Mon-Wed-Fri routine), I'll be doing my explosive day on Wednesdays (cleans/jerks, plyos) and Mon, Fri focusing on strength with Inclines, Squats and Deads and some supplement lifts. No high volume or anything since my body hasn't responded as well to the higher volumes. And Tues, Thurs, Sat I get some more explosive work with light plyos, field goals, kickoffs and punts. And a full rest day on Sunday with my girlfriend at 1pm, 4pm and 8:30pm. lol

Personally I include it just because I feel it's a good way to either start or end the day depending on how I'm feeling. If I'm feeling good I definitely love it but I guess that's just the adrenaline pumping me up.

What lift are you looking to include? I like the three day full-body setup with either bench and powercleans on the middle day or powercleans on the third day. Or my other preference is lower off upper off lower off upper (with cleans instead of bench). Its been said that exercises like the clean if done a lot can lead to injury because of how explosive they are but 1-2 times per week shouldn't cause any problem. I put things like plyo's in there as well though so I really only need it once per week.
