This is probably the wrong section for that question, try the Personal trainers section or just PM somebody who has there CSCS and ask them your specific questions.

Also you could submit you question to a number of individuals on elitefts.com

If you search the forums I can imagine you could find a good bit of information also

I studied for 2 days about4 hours each day.

    Tips:
    buy the practice test.

Make answer sheets on excel so you can re take the test as much as you need to. If you write on the test you know the answers

only focus on the sections you struggle on. Dont. Dont just look for the answer you missed. Actually LEARN your prblem areas

    That's all I did.

Pretty easy test. Just dont waste time studying things you already know. That is what the guide is for. Study what you dont know

I began studying for the test about a month out. I got the textbook and read 1-2 chapters a day a few days per week. I was still playing indoor football at the time so I had to manage practice along with other responsibilites.

As for tips, as I recall there were a lot of questions regarding the different phases of the powerclean along with those about the administration areas of running a program/facility.

powerclean phases like: starting position, liftoff, scoop, jump, pull-under, rack, recover.

    something like that?

I dont wanna start seriously studying for it until after my finals. in December. Its going to give me like less than a month to study freely for the exam. The thing is, the past few semesters I have been taking classes about exercise physiology and anatomy. I did pretty well in them and probably have to refresh my memory. The class I think that is going to help me the most is the class I'm taking right now which is strength and conditioning and the instructor use to be the NSCA president like last year.

Even with everything I got from the past few years, I'm hoping a month of most likely long days of studying will help me do well.

this may seem like a really obvious point but amount of time on study is dependent on what one's degree is. The CSCS can be done by anyone with any degree.

if you're familiar with the area, the practice tests are a really good idea. likewise these include a dvd to get a sense of what the videos are like and the video based questions.

There's a fascinating section on how best to lay out a gym so may want to be sure to take a look at the facilities management stuff too.

The people here are correct, the test pac is your best buy. you should already know most of things they ask ,the power lifting maybe your only weak spot. Don't know if you covered it much in school.
Hit the practice tests hard so you know how they want things answered.

I personally never bothered with a practice test. I bought one of the $30 study guides but didn't find it very useful.

    sometimes ebay has them.
and really if they don't it's cuz they go quick.
think of it as a career investment - once you know you've passed the exam then you can sell your kit on too and get 3/4 of your money back at least.

You can also get the text book out of your libary and go through the questions at the end of each chapter to give you a sense of what material on the exam you might want to review.

If I recall I believe the fail rate is still around 50%, I seem to remember reading that on the NSCA site somewhere.

We did'nt cover lifting very much eather. I don't think I would have passed if I didn't study the power lift vocabulary they wanted on my own. Also the specal tests they asked about. If you are conftrable with the vocabulary of power lifts then the book maybe a better investment. I think you can find used copies on line.
