Exclamation How to reduce traps muscle

    Hello everyone,
I have been lifting for about 2 years now and i have significantly increased my traps way too big than my deltoids. So now i have been cutting down fat along with muscle to reduce my traps so that i can start all over again to gain the right symmetry in my muscle with little traps and more deltoids (get that nice V-shape).

I have reached a certain extent though that my traps have reduced to a certain amount by running and doing no lifting because i noticed everytime i lift they just keep on increasing so now i am jogging to reduce them dunno if it is going to reduce further but i hope it does.

So my question is how do i reduce my traps way further then big up my deltoids withoutt my traps increasing too much? Do i keep doing what i am doing (jogging) or need to incorporate a new exercise routine?

Have you tried simply NOT training them, while pounding your delts?

Yes i have tried not training them while pounding my delts with front dumbell raise but they still increased maybe this time i shud get my traps to decrease to a lower level then pound my delts with arnold or dumbell presses instead of dumbell raises. Maybe that would work.
you just can't live in that negative way..... make way for the positive day.

The press should be your primary mass builder. Focus on all three heads of the delts. I suggest doing some more research.

Massive traps are wonderfully impressive, and for most people hard to get. I wish you could send me any unwanted trap mass!

If your form is incorrect when doing lateral raises you're actually working the traps quite a bit. Do some research and reevaluate your form and technique.

But I agree with the above posters... big traps are awesome

I really doubt your traps are disproportionately huge. At any rate, like flangmasterj said, you should be doing overhead/military presses to build your delts. Trying to shrink your traps is crazy talk.

You've hit upon the secret already actually. Jogging is definitely by far the best way to build your delts and reduce your traps. You should market that approach.

Or you could always try heavy overhead presses and stop doing direct trap work.

This is what you need to do. At 150 something lbs, nothing on you is "too big" If you don't like how your proportions are coming along focus more on the weak areas, take it easy/don't train your traps directly for a while and hit your side delts hard and often.

it takes away from the illusion of width. im skeptical of op's trap size tbh.

    i have a feeling it isn't a mass issue, rather it's a genetic one.

I suppose I see how that makes sounds..

Sounds like the OP also has no lats.. Which I find to be the biggest contributor of the V-Taper

Traps are not part of the "V-shape"...

Sounds like you need to improve your shoulder workout.

    He's only 5'8"

150 at that height is like 155 at your height. Give him a break.

Traps are awesome. The bigger the better IMO. if you want them to shrink don't train them.
