who is more respected in the US? Marines or Army?
I have always thought the marines were like the Army's hat (no negs). Amirite?

They're both equal but from an objective point of view I'd have to say that according to studies the Marines are more professional.

No brah, no no no... Its Marine, capitol M, always.
The Marines are no ones hat at all. They are the baddest mother****ers there are. They are the smallest branch but the most feared. The best ground fighting force in the world, barring Spec Ops units, which the Marines have Force Recon anyway.
The Marines are the Marines, there are Marines and then there is everybody else.
ALL branches of service get my respect of course, but the Marines are most ALPHA.

I don't respect one more than the other both are outstanding branches. However when broken down to individuals I find my army bretheren easier to get along with but that the marines tend to hold themselves to a higher personal standard of excellence on average. But like I said they're both equally impressive and couldn't imagine doing what they do in the deployed location. Sitting back on base and providing air support seems so easy and mundane compared to what I see these guys doing on a daily basis.

Both are respectable but I'd have to say Marines. I think Navy Seals are the most Alpha.

I got to train with Marines at Fort Sill in A.I.T. and we would give each other crap just for the hell of it but they earned my respect right away. They always got issued crap gear that had been refurbished or incomplete, their Humvee's had virtualy no armor and had cardboard doors and these guys are the first ones that get sent in to hostile areas.
Much respect to the Marines.

Ok its pretty obvious that the marines are the more respected and more well known for what they do, but the army deserves just as much respect.
I hear that marines are the first to be sent into live combat
amirite?

lulz... oh the memories...
as an MP my service weapon was an m1911a1 .45 from wwII (serious)... i finally got me a beretta when the air force got new glocks... thanks fly boys!
tbh i was never one to bitch about gear, but on the range my .45 would always stove pipe so it was a bitch to maintain expert... it also made me wonder wtf would happen if i ever needed to use it for real...
