i'm 18 years old, and i would like to know the recommended amount of whole eggs per day i should eat. i know cholesterol is not really my concern at this age, but i still want to be careful. i usually have 5 eggs a day and take out 4 yolks of the 5

i'm pretty sure that most new studies show that eggs have both good and bad cholesterol. the problem with cholesterol happens when you have more bad cholesterol than good, so really eggs aren't going to make much of a difference as they contain a good balance of both. i don't think it'd be a good idea to eat a carton a day, but 1-2, and probably 3 or 4 is fine.

I don't do any eggs yolks a day. I have bad family history with heart disease. I usually start my day off with 5 eggs whites and 1/4 cup of almonds for a source of fat.
There's actually a little article about it in the latest Muscle and Fitness. I can't remember exactly what it said though. I have to run in a minutes, so I'll look it up later and post it.
