haha! wayyyyyy to messy for me. If i was that cheap & had to make my own weights, I'd at least have to pony up and have some bum make them for me!

Yea first time you drop the bar poof all your weights go away. You would have to re-inforce them with mesh to get a sturdier plate.

If you live in the developed world, do some pushups, pullups, situps, and run until you can get the rest of your life in order to get a job.

you could probably find used plastic/concrete weights for less money than you'd spend on concrete and time to make those.
i've seen them listed free on craigslist, and often see 100#+ of them with bars and a nasty 70's bench for $40-50.
of course, there are the guys who think they have some valuable "vintage" equipment for sale
