Robert, very cool getting a write up about your transformation. I was looking at the food you listed for the final cut. I would not be cut, I would be expired. I burn that many calories walking to the Refrigerator. LOL
Question is: are you really going to mind if you hit your goals without puking 3 times a week?

My wife Jennifer and I started some Christmas baking this weekend:
Coconut Chocolate Macaroons
Pecan Shortbread Cookies
Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies
Pecan Toffee Bars
Hazelnut Tarts
Our neighbours are going to love us!
Thanks guys. The calories did get a little low huh?
Here's my cardio session from earlier today:
22 sprints (15, 30, 45 & 60 second intervals) + LISS for a total of 50 minutes.
Have a great night all.

Congratulations!!!! Rockin'!
I know how yucky it can be to wake up on Monday not feeling 100%. Hope your energy is back in time for your upper body power workout today, but if in doubt, I suggest you eat one those oh-so-delectable looking Pecan Toffee Bars! Mmmmm, that would totally do the trick for me!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Val. Funny how sweets can make you feel better. I have another offering coming later tonight.
Thanks Tiff. Sorry, I'm not trying to tempt you too much. But I guess I should take it as a compliment.
My head still hurts, but not as much as this morning, and it didn't keep me from my workout:
Upper Body Power
Incline Press - 4 sets of 4-10
Bench Press - 3 sets of 6
BB Row - 4 sets of 5-10
Machine Rows - 4 sets of 7-10
Shoulder Press - 3 sets of 7
Face Pulls - 3 sets of 8-10
EZ Bar Curls - 2 sets of 5
1 Arm Cable Curls - 2 sets of 6
I think some more baking is in order....

I actually work my triceps on lower body days, just to even up the volume - it would be just too much on upper day. So you'll see them tomorrow.
The cals are slowly creeping up each week. I'm still carb cycling and the carbs range from 1700-2100 calories.
Here's what I baked tonight:
Robert's Ooey Gooey Crisp and Chewy Oatmeal Chocolate Caramel Pecan Cookies....Supreme

It's funny, I watch the Food Network religiously, love to cook and bake, but don't eat any of it. It's all for friends and family....
Here's the workout from today:
Leg and Triceps Power
Squats - 5 sets of 6-12
Leg Curls - 3 sets of 8
Leg Extentions - 3 sets of 8
Calf Raise - 5 sets of 12
CG Bench - 4 sets of 8
Overhead Extentions - 3 sets of 10
My lower back has flared up once again, and that prompted a trip to the chiropractor tonight. It seems the low back muscles have siezed up a bit. I have a follow-up tomorrow. Hopefully I can get back into proper alignment. It's making the workout a little too painful....

You're having the same issue...? Having back pain is frustrating.
The families are coming together at our house tomorrow. Christmas Eve is the most important day for Lithuanians (like most European cultures) so Jennifer and I have been busy preparing for the feast. It's a meatless meal, mainly fish is traditional served. There will be shrimp, salmon, tilapia, smelts and herring dishes along with a variety of vinaigrette salads. And desserts....this is going to be epic.
Here are a few more things we worked on today:
Gingerbread House
Blueberry Cheese Torte
And just a side note, Nathan has recently discovered that his feet can be very entertaining:

Christmas Eve at our house was so much fun. We had food galore, a true seafood feast, with plenty of dessert and libations for all. Here's a pic of the dessert table:
After dinner the family played a gift exchange game. The original gift I opened was "stolen" from me, then my next was "stolen", but in the end I received a very elegant (and soft) blanket. Nathan and I will love to wrap ourselves in it.
Nathan's first Christmas was spent at home in the morning. We opened stockings and gifts from ourselves. I think my favourites including clothing from the Team Canada Olympic collection:
Hey Jaime, we can now don our gear and cheer on Team Canadian together.
The afternoon was spent with my in-laws. We all got spolied. I think Nathan has more clothes that I do.... The feast continued, I got my turkey, yum!
All in all I think this will go down as one of the best Christmas' for me...Nathan has a way of making everything more special these days. My reign as the Sweater King will continue - I received 6 this year. Later when we got home and put junior to bed Jennifer and I watched "500 Days of Summer". It was a really good movie (I recommend it) and put a nice finish to the day.
I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas as well!
Boxing Day (week) frenzy is on. Danier, a leather clothing store, has a huge sale on, so Jennifer and I did some shopping. Here my purchase this morning (with my best Sears pose):

My Christmas was fantastic, thanks. Nathan has a way of making everything so much fun.
And my back - super sore!
Yesterday was a cardio day for me:
HIIT - 26 sprints (20, 40 & 60 second intervals)
Today I smashed out an Upper Body Power workout:
Bench Press - 5 sets of 4-10
BB Rows - 3 sets of 6-10
Shoulder Press - 5 sets of 6-10
RG Lat Pulldowns - 2 sets of 6
Machine Rows - 5 sets of 6-10
1 Arm Cable Curls - 3 sets of 6-8
Overhead Extentions - 3 sets of 10
My lower back is sore! Sadly I was not able to go as heavy as I would have loved to. Back to the Chiropractor tomorrow.

Here's tonight's workout:
Lower Power
Squats - 5 sets of 5-12
Lying Leg Curls - 5 sets of 5-12
Leg Extentions - 4 sets of 6-10
Standing Leg Curls - 3 sets of 6-8
Calf Raise - 6 sets of 12
I had another chiropractic appointment today as my back is still sore. I'm doing some major icing right now. My next visit's this Wednesday - I would like it to loosen up so I can start hitting my exercises as hard as I should be....we'll see.....

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
I hope that you all rang in the new year with loved ones. Jennifer, Nathan and I spent part of the evening with friends, but were home by 11pm to put little Nate to bed. Jennifer and I then had a chance to celebrate the coming of 2010...it was a good evening...
In keeping with tradition, I guess it's time to set some goals for 2010. Let's take a look at what I proposed after my contest in November:
Short Term
1. Place 1st in the current OBF competition (Dec 2009) This was an epic failure - my placing still bothers me so much! I guess I'll have to kill it in this year's comp!
2. Gain so much lean mass so it'll make my current physique look skinny. I can definitely go for this!
Long Term
1. Place 1st in a Men's Novice Heavyweight Class (2010)
2. Place top 5 in a Men's Open Heavyweight Class (2010)
3. Be a legitimate contender for a Pro Card (By 2012)
4. Win a Masters Pro Card (2012)
I have so much work to do to get these goals accomplished, but I'm up to the challenge! Let's get to work!
Thanks, I hope the back loosens up soon - I got weights to lift....

wow, it looks like you guys had a great xmas...and how cool you could cook all the treats, etc and not eat them!!! Happy New Year here we come!
I want muscle...
This is maturity: To be able to stick with a job until it's finished; to do one's duty without being supervised; to be able to carry money without spending it; and to be able to bear an injustice without wanting to get even.

Thanks guys, Nathan's a keeper alright!
Well, I did have to sample everything.....a good chef has to taste it all don't you know...
Pretty much everything of Nathan's is cuter (even though I'm pretty cute myself, lol).
It's been about 8 weeks since my competition. Here are some update pics of me at 190lbs:

I feel a little lazy right now. Yesterday was supposed to be my HIIT cardio day, but the day came and went without hitting the bike. Today I will be back to training - upper body hypertrophy - despite the fact that my lower back is so stiff. I've been going to the chiropractor about twice a week for a while, but things aren't progressing.....very frustrating. I have another appointment tomorrow, so we'll see how the snapping helps.
Have a great day everyone.
