Berlin wall vs Palestinian wall

What's the difference between the two and why would people who were segregated by a wall from the rest of the world repeat the same thing to people who are more volunerable?

Maybe one day we'll celebrate the fall of Palestinian wall.

The communist East Germany government used the wall to keep people in (to keep control of them) and the Palestinian wall is used to keep people out on both sides. Sort of like "you stay on your side of the fence and we'll stay on our side".

Will the Palestine wall fall? That depends if the generations of hate that the wall is a manifestation of can be resolved, when and if that can happen the wall will fall.

I really see this as a very poor anology. The two walls went up for very different reasons, and have had very different impacts. The same people that draw this comparison also call it an Apartheid wall. Once again comparing the Berlin wall to anything that went on in South africa under Apartheid simply does not compute. if you want to make arguments against the wall have at it. However, I am unsure how poor analogies help make a case for the Palestinian side.

First off, most settlers are loony asshats. Second, these guys broke into a home and are squatting there. This is obviously not right and they should be forced to leave as soon as the rightful owner can be verified.

I don't think that there's anything wrong with buying up Arab properties in Jerusalem, especially since the sellers are being very well compensated, even given jobs in other countries.

Last, what does this have to do with the wall?

Apartheid was racial segregation

the Palestinian wall is there to keep Islamist psychos out.

If it is to "keep Islamist psychos out.", then why does it cut into about 35% of the Palestinian territory. Why don't the Israelis keep it on their own borderline and not put it deep into Palestinian land.

Newsflash: There can be no peace in Palestine. Peace cannot be achieved when both sides are 100% sure that they are the rightful inheritors to the same piece of land. Peace is a process that comes about between adults who are willing to compromise and do not talk in absolutes. The dogmatic nature of the religions of the Israelis and Palestinians have ensured that they will all remain at the mentality of an arrogant 12-year old child who thinks he is always right.

That last segment in the video MWarsame posted really highlights this point. Religion has stunted the natural growth processes and maturation of these morons.

You could debate the path of the wall. however, there is little debate over the purpose of the wall....to keep out terrorists. It has done an excellent job in this regard. The better question is why the palestinian leadership has chosen to support such a flawed strategy (terror attacks). I lived in israel at a time when no wall existed, and thousands of Palestinians entered israel daily from Gaza and the territories to work in israel. This all changed with the advent of suicide attacks.

Instead of questioning crappy Palestinian tactics, palestinian supporters seem obsessed with alternately trying to compare the wall to the berlin wall, or calling it an apartheid wall. let's just sit back and see how such tactics play out in the long term.

with Israels logic, America belongs to the Indians, because 3000 years ago they ruled it.

Land does not belong to anyone per se. God/Nature did not give any human, or set of humans land as his/her own private property.

Land belongs to someone only as long as they have the means to control it.

Given the current situation, it's more accurate to say that Palestinians have just as solid a chance as getting Israel back as the American Indians do in reclaiming the continental United States.

If it ran along the 1967 border then maybe you could argue that it is built with then intent of protecting Israeli territory and keeping terrorists out but the picture shows that this is obviously not the case.

It runs along "'Palestinian' territory" only in areas of the West Bank where there are Jewish neighborhoods under constant attacks from their neighbors. The wall protects them from the barbarians.

Dont you mean where there are illegal Jewish settlements in Palestinian territory which by the US and international peace plan have to be removed??
