Help me decide, Misc.
I'm planning on taking the family across country, Summer of 2011. I've been looking at rigs for the trip and so far, nothing has jumped out as the ONE. These are the ones I'm currently considering.
What do you think?
One of the rigs I was hoping to see just got deleted. FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
Anyway, I'm looking for something small enough to get decent gas mileage - and large enough that we have at least a little room to spread out.
There will be more, in time. But which of these catches your eye, if any?

I don't need anyone to know sh.1t. I'm just bored and asking.
They're not unsafe, unless of course I have a bottle in the cup holder.

the first one looks decent. I like it for the huge window. Since your taking your family cross country theirs gonna be alot of site seeing. Instead of everyone fighting over all of the smaller windows that the other vechiles have, your family could probably just sit their in one spot gooing, ohhhh, ahhhh. Thats just one opition.

Agreed. i saw that one today. Owned and worked on by a mechanic and the engine, trans and exhaust were perfect.
Interior was kinda beat to **** and there wasn't a roof a/c.

Sounds like it will be a nice holiday, if I was you I'd make my decision based upon two things in this order:
*reliability - because a POS that breaks down is gonna cost you big time on the road
*comfort - like they said above comfort and a good view could mean the difference between a nice trip or bickering over the window seat
*fuel economy - ultimately whether you get 18mpg or 16mpg fuel will be a big cost but of course a more efficient van is going to mean more money to spend elsewhere
I reckon the bolded criteria comes far ahead of all others
btw you have 2 younger kids and an infant don't you?
They should all be big enough really and you might find that one of the smaller ones is designed better and actually has more space so check them out I guess.

Very true, man. Thanx.
There was a 29 ft. Class-A I was supposed to see tomorrow but the guy removed the post somewhere within the past 4 hours.
Mechanics are primary, interior secondary and structure tertiary.

3 kids - 11, 9 and 4. They'll be 13, 11 and 6 when we hit the road.
The smaller ones have the space, no doubt - the larger ones just allow us to spread out a little more. And yeah, I'm checking them out as best i can.

I dig the trailers - I just don't want to pull one across the country.

Of course I've stayed in vans (on holiday) ithat were fixed in parks before and some really have a lot more space than you'd expect and others are quite cramped.
Good luck with your search, no rush to find one either... thanks for the rep.
