How do you handle this situation misc?

-You work at a large company

-You hung out with a group of people from work for months

-A girl from this group liked you a lot

-You refused to date said girl

-The group now are complete *******s to you at work

-Said group is below you in the company

How do you react to this? I thought I had friends but obviously not. I can't let them win. What should I do?

I'm not their 'boss' but they have no influence on my career and would come through my group for advancement.

It may be tough but the more involved you get with people beneath you at works bitching and politics the more it drags you down and the less they will respect you. Truly.

Just be above it, treat them respectfully, professionally but DO NOT try to "be their friend" unless they come to you. Really would you respect a boss more who was crawling around trying to be "one of the gang" or one who did his job and didn't seem affected by whether you liked him or not.

Give it space, any of those people who genuinely like you anyway will reach out to you at some stage, when it is socially acceptable for them to do so. For the moment, she has the sympathy, after all, employees of a certain level stick together to a certain degree. The more you pander to her/them, the pettier you look.

Rise above broski.
