Liberals rightfully blame giant corporations for destroying our country...
yet why do they always fail to realize that the government enables these corporations to become so massive by destroying competition, allowing them to become monopolies and duopolies? The only solution liberals offer is more government, just like when it comes to economics and Keynesians. The Keynesian solution to everything is just spend more, even when massive spending gets us into economic recessions!

Protip: The government doesn't have to be owned by corporations, unlike what the GOP wants. The govenrment is there to regulate them, not control them. In Republican fantasyland, corporations would be able to draw blank checks from the government whenever they wanted and bend over the consumer at every opportunity.
Summary
Social democracy: Government works for the people to ensure fair trade and sound corporate practices and a healthy capitalist market
Republicans: We're going to subsidize companies and give them huge hand-outs and ignore everything they do to kill competition and screw over the consumer.
Libertarians: Republicans, without the hand outs

you honestly just proved my original point
we already regulate corporations, and all that happens is the big corporations become more powerful because the small businesses can't put up with the costs of regulations.

I disagree
Competition aren't stifled by government regulation. (seeing as we removed most of those regulations such as Sox , hard asset accounting, glass stegall, and most anti trust)
Competition is stifled by the cost of competing. Anti competitive practices such as market share saturation by selling a product at a loss are common practices and stifles innovation and choice

Probably the single most retarded thing, ass-backwards thing I've heard in my whole time on these forums, and that is saying A LOT. Congratulations.

Haven't you heard. It's only bad when Republicans do this.

For idiocy of that high caliber, there's really no suitable response other than a not-so-subtle rolling of the eyes or a swift hand swipe upside the back of the head.

So what do you call what the GOP wants: a mandate for every American to purchase PRIVATE HEALTH INSURANCE with no restriction on the insurance companies (in fact -- big tax breaks for them)? That's a handout if I've ever seen one.
And TARP was Obama fixing Bush's mess. If we had the proper regulations in the first place, it wouldn't be needed.

In the early 1900s, when the phone companies got too big, the government split the companies to create more competition. Why has this not been adhered to in other industries. By the looks of new acquisitions the phone companies are headed back to monopoly.

......Because Democrats never get in bed with corporations...........if that ever happened, the earth might simply fall off its axis.
I'm sure that GE, Google, Hollywood, most of the banks(who don't care who butters their bread), Progressive, Disney, Microsoft, Exelon.....etc......haven't received this sad news.

Like everything else....money/contracts.
You can see it in action anytime you watch the ge-governement propaganda tv, i mean nbc/pmsnbc.
Why do you think nbc is constantly pushing the theory that co2 causes global warming?
Because ge stands to make billions in the useless green energy.

Its a natural conclusion of capitalism for megacorps to form...
You can break them up, but given enough time they just reform.
You can't exactly set limits either, because then you're labeled anti-capitalist.
I don't know what the solution is, but capitalism is not a perfect system.

When lefties support TARP, Obama gets credit. When you point out where TARP has failed though, thats when its Bush's fault.
