"The contrast shower is a simple and convenient way to stimulate vitality and promote detoxification, as well as treat generalized areas of pain and soreness. The idea is simple: alternating between hot and cold water while you are showering to stimulate your body to heat itself up and cool itself down, in order to compensate. This temperature contrast helps strengthen and normalize the nervous, circulatory, endocrine (hormonal), musculoskeletal and immune systems and is excellent for helping the body cope with physiological and psychological stress."
Tried one today and couldnt breath for like 3 minutes after using freezing cold water and it feels like my kidneys went numb.
Are these things safe?...they seem pretty hardcore.
yes theyre safe, i know plenty of people in other countrys, go get heated up in a sauna and then they have this big whole in a frozen lake, yes they go and jump into the freezing water. done it myself once, probably the best feeling i ever felt.

Wow this can really put you into shock?
I mean i know it shocks your system a little from pumping blood from the muscles to the internal organs and back out again and turbo speeds up your heart, lungs nervous system and metabolism ect but could this really be fatal if done by a healthy person?
Theres loads of articles that point to its benefits and that its safe if you have no medical problems but i think ill stop doing them if its risky.

i dont know what its called, but there's a hospital around here that has a big tank thing that slowly pressurizes itself, exactly like scuba diving, so that something happens to your blood, like it gets more oxygen or something. they do it for sick patients to help them heal faster

this... in sweden wed go in the sauna, then jump in the baltic sea... back to the sauna, back to the sea... the beach wed run across was covered in snow... we were all naked... major shrinkage, but the hot naked blonde women made up for any insecurities about the shrinkage...
long story short... it was fun and exhilarating and usually led to drunk group sex (no homo), but im not sure how it worked from a training perspective...

For the guys that do these or have done them in the past, how do you get over the shock factor of the extreme cold water hitting you and do you ever adjust so they get easier to do without feeling like your dying or is it pretty much the same every time?
