    Help with weight /muscle gain

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas that would help me. I have little body fat and little definition to my muscles...I am 5'4 105 lbs....I am trying to gain weight and also add muscle(if they can both be done together) I am very new at lifting weights. I eat pretty much everything in site, I have a very high metabolism...I have tried some phosphagen hp(sp?) before and that did not seem to help. any ideas ???
    Thanks!!

Go through some of the articles on this site, particularly concerning insulin responses to food. I had been having a hard time gaining aswell until I stumbled across those articles around Januaryish. My goal was to put on 10lbs of weight by June. Today I weighed in at 120.5 (WOOO). Over a month in advance. I decided to start dieting to let it show a bit more. Even though Im not totally fat, I just want to be more ripped for summer. Maybe by August I can be 125?? I hope so. But anyways the gist of some of it was that our bodies arent accustomed to high surges of sugar in our blood stream. All this junk food is new. Its only been around for less then 100 years. Not enough time for evolution to take place. So what happens is you eat these high glycemic foods and your body releases too much insulin. It is preparing itself for a huge meal which it never gets. So it needs FAST sugar to make up for the food that it thought it would get but didnt. Fat takes too long to break down so it grabs energy from your muscles. So all these high glycemic foods are actually catabolic. You LOSE MUSCLE when you eat candy. Plus you get fat. You become a skinny fat person. Once I started to pay a little more attention to the glycemic index I started gaining weight. And my BF levels only went up marginaly, maybe a couple percent but nothing to write home about. Sometimes eating EVERYTHING isnt the best response either! Anyway it is something to research. There are certain times you can get away with high GI carbs and even times when it works in your advantage. Im not sure why the creatine didnt help, I use the same brand and love it. Are you using any protien supplements?
