Hogan comments on TNA
Hulk Hogan did an interview with a Minnesota music blog called "Gimme Noise". He was asked about going to TNA. Here is what he said.
"That's a huge deal for me, man. I never thought that they would bring me in to like the Vince McMahon role with another wrestling company kind of like I did with WCW years back. I actually used to have this same role back in the day, except it was unofficial. Vince's dad ran the league while I was down here in Minnesota kicking ass with Verne Gagne and when he died, they talked me into coming back. So I came back and found that Vince McMahon, who owns the company now, didn't really understand the business. So I moved in next door to him in Connecticut and taught him all about lifting weights and riding motorcycles and partying like a mad man; and then I taught him about the wrestling business and making money. And now I'm doing that again with TNA Wrestling.
The reason I decided to get back into it is because I'm ready to flip this business over again. It's getting real boring with only one company stuffing this programming down your throat and not allowing fans and the wrestlers the chance to make a choice, and I think it's really important to be able to make that choice instead of just having one option and one option only."
Yes, he taught Vince everything about the business. Hogan is a true marvel!
He was also asked how him coming to TNA will help the company. Could he improve the visibility of the company? He said:
"The proof is already out there. In the course of a few days we've got more buzz going for TNA Wrestling then it's had in seven years. For example, no other wrestling organization had ever been able to get into Madison Square Garden in New York for like, 100 years, because Vince owns it and his family owned it before him. So I came in and was like, "Watch this." And we did a press conference at Madison Square Garden.
All I told these guys was that they should give me a chance. If they didn't like what I was doing they can tell me to take a hike, but let me have the chance to come in and take a shot at it. Let the fans and the other wrestlers take a look and decide for themselves what they're in to and I'm confident that I will get this thing rockin'."

Does even Hogan believe his lies at this point? I mean, what a ****ing crock of ****. He's got to be saying this kind of silly nonsense simply to get a rise out of Vince.

I bet one day Hogan's gonna tell us that he's in line to take over from God when he retires and on that day he'll be making the sky yellow and the clouds red.

If someone can overthrow the Lord it must be either Kratos or Hulk Hogan. Since Kratos is fictional, it's got to be Hogan with his 26 inch pythons!

Nice story, the only problems with it are-
1. Vince Jr bought out Vince Sr & his partners in 1982 & WWF was doing huge business in 1982/1983 before Hogan returned.
2. Hogan returned in December 1983, Vince Sr died in May 1984.
3. Vince Jr had been in WWWF/WWF over a decade, so he obviously knew how the business worked.

Bingo.
I think he's just trying to ignite McMahon to get a reaction as even negative feedback from WWE would be good. For them to acknowledge TNA in any way would be huge. The relationship Hogan and Vince have is just surreal, imo. They basically helped make each other, sometimes work with each other, but other times are just at each other's throat.
I mean, while this delusional interview on Hogan's part certainly is ****ty (and it is) -- you still have petty Huckster, Nacho Man and Billionaire Ted skits or McMahon mocking Brooke Hogan's career with Jillian... so the **** flows both ways on this one.

hogan was in the first Ladder matches around the house show circuit during his mid 1980's reigns
hogan really thought of the NWO idea. He felt bad for almost putting vince out of business, so he wrote to him with the DX idea
hogan beat buddy rogers for the first wwf championship but decided to forfeit the title to go to elementary school

LOL, its called marketing guys... why is it that after all these years, y'all can't accept a wrestler trying to weave kayfabe back into the industry? This is the way to do it! Not cheesy purple smoke in a limo, not through rehashing the Stone Cold Era, but by weaving reality into storylines. Its what Hogan did for years with his "reality" show, and he even explains this point in his new book. This technique of selling himself made him the most famous professional wrestler ever, so maybe don't question it?
in b4 "but its not true, he's bringing fabricated elements into pro wrestling... oh wait."

Its what he's always done, and what nobody else does to his scale, and he's biggest name in wrestling history... there's a blueprint hidden in there. The only people who care enough to call him out on it are too unimportant to make a difference.

call it what you want, fair enough to say he was talking kayfabe by claiming he was the reason people turned up at shea stadium in 1980 not bruno but:
"these are andres boots that he gave me after the match at WM3, he died a few days later"
"bret hart was being a horses ass and little shawn michaels held him down and pinned him at wrestlemania 16 or 17"

There is a diffrence between working kayfabe & outright lies in an attempt to rewrite history- the guy lied on national tv about his steroid use, got out of going to the Zahorian trial, then admitted he lied 3 years later at Vince's trial.
He did an autobiography which he proclaimed as true, that he later admitted was totally fabricated, now he is trying to flog a second one. We have had such gems as him drawing the Shea Stadium crowd rather than Bruno, not knowing what the result of his match at WM3 would be until that day, Andre dying a few days after that show, Andre weighing 700 pounds at that show etc.

My personal favorite is depending on the interview he tore his right lat, or his left lat, or both biceps while slamming Andre at WMIII. You'd think if he was gonna make up a story he could at least stick with it!

And in the proper context, those were both said by Hogan while trying to put himself over. Its a very simple concept.
