I wouldn't. I think it's best to train tri's either w/ chest, or (prefferably) a few days after.

Sure
Of course you CAN benefit from the workout as long as you do not feel as if you are overtraining. If your triceps are sore and burning as if they are still recovering, it is probably not a good idea.
If you can, try to work your triceps on the same workout as your chest, that way the set of muscles will burn and recover together.

It's actually not as effective to train your tri's on chest day, the simple fact being that when you finish your sets of chest exercises, your triceps are at about 70% capacity meaning they cannot be correctly targeted during this same workout because they are already partially fatigued.
And OP, here is a quote from an article that should help: "When a muscle is recruited in a supporting or secondary role, it is not stimulated to a level high enough to impact on it's growth. Although it is fatigued, it will be fully recovered within several hours post workout and can be trained as primary the following day".

you can do whatever you want as long as you eat and sleep enough... you can certainly work out tri's the day after chest if you can work them out WITH chest.

I wouldn't think the tri's are a secondary role in pressing, merely a part of the primary role that the pecs, delts, tri's all share... Tri's DO get some decent growth from presses... What article did that come from? I don't agree.
...Well, I just found the article in another post. Interesting that I don't agree with some of it and it seems to present speculation as fact, but I set up my own split almost the same way after years of experimenting - chest with biceps, legs with shoulders, back with triceps

Yeah, I didn't agree with some it either because thats not the way I have been training, but I have begun doing that same split you are now doing, interested to see if it works better or not.
