oh....ok.......sorry I thought you meant in the morning. If I was waking up hungry during the night I would still eat something I would just be more careful about how much/what I ate.
By the way, I would prolly jump my food up during the day if I was that hungry at night.....maybe even add a few more carbs if they are to low...
Good luck with your diet and training...

I save enough calories for a hearty dinner with plenty of protein to carry me through the night. What time are you eating your last meal and what time are you going to bed and waking up. Sounds like you need to shift your meal time a little bit.

Hey man...i think what throws my body off is the fact I work the night shift sun-wed...So on the weekends it f'd up my eating schedule.....So you would add more food at dinnner or have a larger snack at bedtime...for snack I mean the homemade jerky or protein bars or cottage cheese...and with the cottage cheese should I for go the fruit...

A messed up sleeping schedule will certainly make things more difficult! Not sure what I would do because you are probably waking up as much for the goofy schedule as the hunger. I guess if the body is used to a snack at 3am... well maybe you should give it a snack on the days off too.

If you wake up hungry, eat like a little pig! Good, clean calories. Your first meal of the day will set the stage for what comes next. Don't mess it up with a cup of coffee first! LOL If your stomach says eat, then eat! It's not like you're lusting after a bag of chips and a beer at 1:30 in the morning while slouching around on the couch.

I take Casein shake before bed so the hunger does not wake me up but I do feel hungry few mins after I get up. I do eat a good breakfast...twice in the morning.

It could be carbs.....a lot of people have been digesting carbs as the major part of their diet for so long that that immediate highs and lows of carb depletion and sugar rush - too many ups and downs, my suggestin, try and level off the carb highs and lows...without knowing your diet it may be sodas or candy, but its a classic sign of eating to keep your glucose levels up and down wirth sugars as opposed to a flatter protein based iet...just my 2 cents
