You know, I actually feel bad for them. But this is the thing- I don't like the feeling of superiority over anyone else (especially in the physique category).
So, it annoys the **** out of me when someone who loses weight starts saying things like 'get off your fatass, you lazy bastard and get to working out.' While it was that simple in my case, it isn't in everybodys. I also understand in being proud of your achievement, but you should get over it fairly quickly and help push those along that aren't as quick... Not spend your life telling everyone your life story of how you lost weight, almost as if you have something to prove.

I was fat all my life until college. Sophomore year I went from 220 to 155 in four months. Now I have to start working on building muscle.

Hank Hill: Bobby, if you give a Valentine to a sixth grade boy, girls are gonna think you're... sensitive. Something like that could follow you the rest of your life. Now here's a candy for Joseph. It says, "Hey, You're O.K."

Tell you the truth, I use them as even more motivation. I feel a sorrow for them for being like that, but then I just think its their fault they are like that and they can fix it if they wanted to. I guess its easier to drop excuses then it is pounds and thats why there are many fatties.
I still feel like a fatty and I believe I will feel like that forever, I look at it as helping me stay motivated and helping me strive for my goal.
This is going to sound dickheaded, but when it comes to girls that are fat or chubby, at least the ones who are interested in me anyways, I find that I think and act more harshly to them. I think it is because since I have worked to look better it almost pisses me off that they come up to me and expect me to be interested in them. I worked to look good, so I expect that from whoever I am going to be with.Chew Crew

I went from 220 down to 180 (appx 20% BF now) - but every time I drop below this level I seem to get sick easily and have virtually no endurance. I would love to be able to see my abs, but I don't think that's feasible for the above mentioned reason.

Any workout you can walk away from is a good workout.

In! Former super-duper fatty (360 lbs) here.
200 lbs lost later, still I feel a moment, instant or glimpse of hesitation when consuming ''unhealthy'' foods or indulging in a well deserved, metabolism firing cheat meal! I still hate to eat out in public or when I can be ''watched'' or seen eating.
makes my choiced lifestyle to bodybuild a little complicated since it sometimes feels like I spend 99% of my time eating!MY LOG: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=119730301

You look AMAZING
In my defense (bc it seems like you are referencing my post above), I don't say it out loud, I say it to myself and then I try to motivate them to do better with themselves. My ex roomie used to bitch and complain about how fat her ass was/is and I told her to come with me to the gym and to start making it a regular thing...
She lost 10 lbs... and then found out she has a thyroid problem and they told her that's all she CAN lose without meds :/ (she's starting the pills soon I think... I hope they work bc she ACTUALLY WANTS to be fit and will work to look nice now!
(no pics)
so you're 160 now?
**** girl. HOW DID YOU DO IT? I mean, I don't want to sound cliche or anything... but HOOOOOOOOOOOOOW? lol
You look awesome now. And I'm self-conscious too about eating in front of ppl but I FORCE myself too otherwise my friend call me anorexic LOL

I wasn't refering to you in particular. I'm talking about a few people I know at my local gym. Everytime I see them, they're schooling others on the went through this weight-loss journey... almost as if everyone should just stop and praise them. Get over yourself if you don't plan on helping others IMO.

YAY!!! Just checkin' in again with all you former fatties!
As to the question about how I feel when I see heavy or overweight, I mostly feel pity. It is so incredibly hard to go through life not being able to feel good about yourself. There are so many overweight women at my gym that look SO sad. I'm always tempted to offer help or advice. I am so moved by all of this that I am contemplating switching careers so that I can counsel postpartum women that are depressed and having weight problems.
Anyways...WTG everyone!
