    Rack pulls translating to Deadlifts

Just a quick question. I was wondering how the weight your pulling on rack pulls translates to the amount of weight you can dead. Currently I can get 385 x 3 on rack pulls. I can only dead 345 x 1 though. What are your numbers looking like?
If your strong enough to lift the weights, your strong enough to put them away

    Current Goal (End of Decemberish)

    Bench 240 --- 255
    Squat 315 --- 365
    Dead 345 --- 405

    rack pulls kick ass

some people are CONSIDERABLY stronger on rack pulls, some aren't

they're great for building deadlift strength...

i can't pull off the floor at my gym, so i can deadlift once every few weeks at a friend's gym.

i increase strength in the rack, and my floor pull gets stronger. it's great.

personally, i can do 405 for sets of 5 off the floor, but only 445 or so for sets of 5 in the rack. i've seen others who can pull 100lbs more in the rack. to each his own.

either way, rack pulls are great!

Also depends on how high you are pulling from. I rackpull from about 1-2 inches below my knees. Last time I did 3x6x545. I deadlift about 5x405 or 1x475. Weak lately, but starting to refocus to raise my numbers.

Every once in a long while I'll use 25 pound plates to pull from a deficit too. I should do this more often, because clearly the start is the weakest point of my lift.
