More On Hulk Hogan/TNA (Macho Man)

WNW reader Andrew sent this in... Hulk Hogan, as he often does, called into Bubba The Love Sponge's radio show on Sirius Satellite Radio today and shed a little more light on his role in TNA. While it wasn't the most revealing interview, he had a few interesting things to say:

-Hulk addressed rumors that he has signed a contract just to be a wrestler and nothing more. He said that there is nothing in his contract about getting in the ring, and that he has been hired to work behind the scenes and put his knowledge of the wrestling business to work to turn TNA around. However, regarding a return to the ring, he said that he never says never.

-When asked how Vince McMahon feels about his decision to sign with TNA, Hogan said that he hasn't spoken to him but that he should be happy about it. He said that the wrestling business was never bigger than when WWE had some real competition and that bringing back that competition will benefit the entire industry, including Vince and WWE.

-Interestingly, when Bubba brought up mistakes that were made toward the end of WCW that led to its demise, Hulk passed a lot of the blame to Eric Bischoff saying that Eric would admit today to the mistakes that he made.

-Regarding Vince Russo, Hulk said that he had no intention of firing Vince once he took over but he said that anyone who doesn't have anything good to contribute to TNA is going to be gotten rid of.

-Bubba hinted that Hulk was in contact with Ric Flair and Macho Man Randy Savage about coming to TNA, but Hulk did not respond.

-Bubba joked that Hogan was risking his job because Dixie Carter has banned all TNA talent from appearing on Bubba's show (which I don't understand because Kurt Angle is also a frequent caller to the show). Apparently, Dixie had heat on Bubba for his criticism of how TNA was run, but Hulk seemed to think that she has since gotten over that. Like I said, it wasn't a very revealing interview, as I imagine Hogan can't really talk about much right now, but it was still interesting to hear what he had to say about certain things.

I doubt it will happen but that would be awesome. All the oldies haha if it did happen(which i doubt) he can be Black Machismo's manager lol.

With Vince holding some type of grudge against Randy Savage, it would be good to see him involved behind the scenes in wrestling. My favorite pro wrestler of all time.

hogan admitted in 2002-2003 in a tv shoot that savage hates him (hogan) and hadn't spoken to him in years at that point

Was Savage still pissed over the Gorgeous George thing or was it something else? Because if it's over that, the hatchett should be buried and they can move onto real business, IMO

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but Jay had Macho's blessing to do the black machismo gimmick.

I'd still love to see Savage go nuts on him (kayfabe of course). That would be an awesome feud, even if Savage is 74 years old.

This is pretty ironic because in the TNA thread I was going to make a joke that "This just in: TNA signs Randy Savage"

Their last stint didn't exactly go well.. Doubt he comes back.

He is Hulk Hogan, his first order of business wherever he goes is too cement his position and start pursuing his agenda. I really hope that this time his agenda is what he says it is and not just to get himself out of the (relative) poor house at TNA's expense.

I believe that's what the beef was/is about.

I read somewhere back in the early 2000's that Hogan saw her in the gym and tried to come on to her. She told Savage and he went ape nuts because Savage felt like it was the SECOND time Hogan went after one of Macho's girls.

The first being Miss Elizabeth of course back in the late 80's. Not just in their on camera storyline but in real life as well.
