I could sit here and throw out a bunch of thing's supporting my claim, but I'm tired and don't give a ****. actually nvm I'll throw in a few pics
but seriously. think about the size of the universe (no seriously, go **** with google, find some sweet pics and websites, read a little, and try to comprehend what we can not comprehend), and the number of planets we have MATHEMATICALLY calculated that could support life (temperature, atmospheric conditions, proximity to their star, etc...theres a big list of things included in these calculations)
the pictures alone should blow your mind. now think about the millions of galaxies, and the BILLIONS OF BILLIONS of stars in each of those galaxies, with many of them having planets.
to think we are alone is very close minded. we are not special. they are coming for us...
(no paranoid schizophrenic)

repped for making a thread with a supporting argument.
quite a relief from that other dip**** whose argument is "or are idiot"

Why do they have to be coming for us? Can't it be friendly?
Close encounters of the third kind. It could happen.
If they are coming, they are highly advanced. To be able to travel across even our galaxy is beyond our ability.
If they are so advanced does it mean they have to be hostile?
Biological life? No doubt. Advanced intelligent life? A bit more skeptic on that.
ID say its extremely likely that there is intelligent lift in one of the 200,000,000,000 galaxies that contain apprx 150,000,000,000 solar systems inside of each.

I was just messing around there haha. I doubt theres **** like on TV/movies. See what I say below about it. I figure there are races very similar to ours in terms of technological advancement. Or maybe they're even much more advanced, but have still yet to figure out how to travel this far. Remember...even going at the speed of light, traveling significant distances across the universe takes a LONGGGG time

Possibly not super advanced **** like we see in the movies, but a non-human race that is as advanced as we are or even more/less so? Doesn't mean they have everything figured out either. Maybe they're trying to reach the planets near them in their galaxy as we are.

Exactly. I feel like it should be common sense. Use logic

Won't you guys find it more mind blowing just at the thought, hypothetically, that we are alone in the universe? I mean that would be pretty fcked up. If we flew to Mars tomorrow and found aliens living in underground caves, that wouldn't really surprise me.
I can't wait for full disclosure though. That would be epic.

You're never gonna get it unless they come here or live within this solar system

Our definition of intelligent life means absolutely nothing when you consider how large the universe is. We're insignificant. There could very well be life forms in another galaxy with technology so great we can't even comprehend it.
The probability of life on other planets is a good chance. Now the portability if Galaxy fairing aliens, become less likely. The amount of variables that goes into having intelligent life is insane. Then even if there are, what are the chances out of all of the galaxies that they are watching this one, or even know we exist. Not to mention right now we have an issue with being able to travel at the speed of light, aka pure energy. So the time it would take to travel could inhibit expansion, then again we don't know of any other space travel.
Is there life beyond earth? That's practically a certainty. Intelligent life however, is another matter entirely. Human evolution, history and development is an amazing, incredible and remarkable thing. And it's taken place in just over 100,000 years or so (an infinitesimally small period of time in the universe). The likelihood of similar conditions permitting intelligent life on other planets has got to be equally small, so there's probably still a good chance we are the only ones.

I agree...that by what we know, on Earth, light is the fastest thing we know of. Who knows what other civilizations that are far more advanced could find. Maybe they found a way to move around the way electrons can move, be on two sides of a nucleus almost similtaneously. One hundred years ago it took months to travel from England to the US, now the time takes a dozen hours. The future can hold things we cannot even imagine, and I think as we advance through time, we will discover those things. Other planets in other galaxies may have already found those though. There may even be some that are still in caveman type of advancement. Who knows. It is mind boggling. The universe is so vast. Hopefully one day in the distant future humans can find a way to get out there and discover it for themselves.
