made it back up to 250lbs, when to cut?
when I started just about a year ago now. I was at 270lbs and nothing but lard, around 255-260 when i hit the gym in November, and weak. Over the past year I got down to 224lbs at my lowest point (around April), since getting down to that point. I have been slowly building back up the lbs, but putting muscle on too. although I have got the "power gut", atleast it's not the "beer gut". I have cycled mostly for mass and strength. I can honestly say, I am the strongest I have ever been in my life at 39. (upper body) I have a bulged disc on the L4-L5 that keeps me from doing squats, or major compound leg exercises.
With that said, I was wondering from the experienced lifters, at what point/time of the year do you start cutting back the heavy weights, and go to a "cut" phase? I mostly focused on mass/strength the whole time, just because I was seeing good gains (for my age). I know all of the gain i have, is not all muscle, nor is it all fat. But I want to get into sync with the proper times of the year to be working "the cycles" Thanks for any insight you can give me. I'm still Noob, even though I thought I knew what I was doing at a young age. As the old saying goes "the more you know, the more you realize you dont know much"

Well I don't think you have to change your lifting routine to "cut". From reading your profile and looking at your pic's, I'd say you need to cut your carbs way back and do more cardio. About 45 mins 6 days a week. Get down to 10 to 12% BF and stay there. Check out my blog on my profile about "bulking and cutting". You might find it helpful. Congrats on your progress so far!
