Thank you President Obama
For pushing this country towards becoming a more conservative nation.
We owe you a great debt.

How do you figure that? If you look at Obama's presidency like a football game, we are only in the first quarter. We still have a long ways to go.

i think he is referring to recent gallop polls which have found that the majority of the nation is now conservative. i dont know though, the OP wasn't very clear. at any rate we will just have to wait until 2012

Fiscally conservative, yes. And that's a good thing.

He never is. He's not here for a discussion, he's here to spread hate. Kind of ironic, considering he's at the cross.

I figure that because the latest Gallup polls show an increase in self-proclaimed conservatives and a decrease in self-proclaimed liberals in our nation.

what I'm talking about is happening now
Obama's and his administration is obviously causing people to move away from liberals and the nation is becoming more conservative. This isn't exclusive of politicians.

Oh that's right, anyone who's critical of the Obamabot's master is a hate monger.

The poll isn't about political parties.

Replace 'political parties' with 'ideologies'.
Political parties are run according to ideologies, so what I said is basically the same thing. Go ahead and argue about it though.

To some extent, though the poll shows that there are twice as many conservatives than liberals and yet the republicans still cannot manage to tap into this in terms of votes. I guess that can be put down to a weak leadership and the inability to truly represent conservative values...

I think that's because republicans traded in fiscal conservatism for social conservatism.
Penny pinching and creating a christian theocracy are two entirely different things.
But people see 'conservative' and its all the same to them...

That, or people who mistakenly keep thinking that their voting in a conservative by voting for the guy/gal with the (R) next to their name.

If you mean fiscally conservative, then yes, I agree. However, I'm also very happy that folks like Huckabee and other social interventionists have led the country in a more socially liberal direction. There's way too much religion in America, especially in the political sphere.

Most Americans don't even know what conservative means. As long as you don't allow "DEM HOMOS TO GET MARRIED" they (and by they, I mean the Republican party's base, i.e. self-described conservatives) are happy.
Most Americans, if they knew the difference, would be liberal, because they actually enjoy things like not being raped by corporations and having clean, safe drinking water or safe work environments or asbestos-free housing or poison-free food.
