    Overtraining symptoms

I'm struggling to understand what's happening, I'll try to explain

I'm bulking, and I basically have two common phases:

In the first one, I have great workouts, giving all of myself every time
All proceed well, then I suddenly ( not so often, for luck ) go into a ****ty period

Motivation, strenght, energy levels, loads all suddenly decrease, and my hunger goes up, stronger and bigger usual, I'm also usually pretty active in social life, but I lose my will to go out too , I feel like I only want to eat and lay on bed all day

I passed that this week too, lighter weights, more fatigue, no noticeable doms the day after, when last week I also had problems to get up in the morning for doms, I pushed really, really, really hard

My idea is that, unconsciously, I do more than needed when in an ecstatic state, ending up tired, like I didn't fully recovered from previous week, the one after the best one

Could this be some form of overtraining?

What is the time period of these two states? Over the last two months could you post a timeline of when you experience these?

This is the first negative phase since I started to bulk ( 3 months in total )
I experienced a stable increase week after week in mass and strenght, then this week I felt like I described

Before this bulk, I experienced that something like a Week every three, more or less, but was in sport contest periods ( too much cardio )

I momentarily eliminated cardio activity at all, I'm only focusing on hard weight training

I workout 4 times a week, with three being classic splits, the fourth a fast full body routine with only one exercise per group

I gained 2kg so far, and almost doubled all my loads ( note: i'm not a novice, but I came from a weak, poor condition and 7 months of no weight training at all)
I was pretty scrawny, but eating and training well I'm recovering back my mass and strenght, maybe thanks to muscle memory too

Try deload 1-2 weeks. Try to drink more liquid thro the day. It might be in your head, so just don't focus that you are mentally scrawny etc. If symptoms aren't going away, go to the doctor and make a blood test, maybe something is wrong still, as you said, you were in a poor condition for a long period of time.

Ok, I'll try to still stay active but deloading work, hope this helps

With poor, btw, I didn't mean in health too, only a muscle mass / some strenght loss thing, due to a different workout type ( martial arts only )

Sound like you are breaking the balance between workload and recovery.

Have you increased calories since you started bulking?

Then it sounds like your plan is deloading and pacing yourself... if that doesn't help try adding some rest/sleep and calories.

If none of that helps, get yourself checked out at the doctors to make sure everything's fine.

I was thinking to add another 50 - 100 small surplus to see what happens, do you think could be helpful or nothing could change?
As for rest and sleep, I assure these are of the best quality possible, if i'll be tired again I'll stick to three days only, skipping the full body day, for the moment, adding another rest day
