Contacts or Glasses? Which is better?

I am thinking of getting contact lenses but not sure if they are better then glasses. I see people who wear glasses all the time damage their eyes more and when they take their glasses of, their eyes look smaller and weird.

Any experiences with both? What was better?

Wear glasses for day to day stuff and contacts for sports or going out.

I prefer contacts. Ever since I started using them, there has been no increase in my number. No need to clean contact lenses when using them, objects are clear because of that. No need to wipe the dew on contact lenses when you move from a cold place to a humid one. No need to adjust, no need to fear breaking them, no need to remove them for washing your face.

had mine for a little less than a month and im pissed i didnt get them sooner

only down side is having to take them off when you sleep
since with glasses all i ever did was toss em

why, how much are they?

I only wear contacts because I have the month to month ones. If I had to hassle with taking them out everyday I'd say **** it and just wear glasses.

i wear glasses during work and at home , but i put my daily lenses in when i go out or to the gym/swimming , with a good pair of goggles you'll appreciate lenses when swimming :P.

I personally wear glasses, as does my dad. My mother and sister switch between contacts and glasses depending on what there doing. Although I havent tried the contacts I do like my glasses...the only thing that bugs me is when people havent seen me without glasses and when they do they say I look weird. But all my friends that knew me before I had mine dont really see a difference.

i wear glasses most of the time but have contacts in when goin to the gym or swimming/rugby. They just do the same job but glasses look so much cooler. my gf's an optom so i have about 5 different pairs

contacts r pretty poor if ur prescription is below -4 or above 4. there aint much u can do about it but they still do job but ur vision would be alot better through glasses because they can get the prescription alot nearer in glasses!

Glasses for reading or if I am staying home for the day. Contacts if I go out unless I am doing exams because I don't like reading with contacts.

Contacs are more expensive than glasses, but if you can afford and wear them theres no reason to wear glasses. I've never met any person who looked better when they put on glasses. They always make you look worse.

You should try wearing contacts before you buy a stack of them. I tried to go from wearing glasses to wearing contacs as well but after two hours my eyes always started to hurt and I had to take them out.

Contacts are cheaper if you have private health insurance, pretty sure I get most of my contacts for free under it. I prefer contacts personally though - helps my confidence

You can't really try them on, not that I know of, aside from one small sample they give you at an optometrist. It takes some time getting use to it as well, just like glasses, so you feel kinda dizzy for the first day.

Cost is around 1.5 bucks per day? Depends if you can get them cheap but thats around the cost your looking at.

Well my optometrist gave me one pair of lenses (the ones you can use for one month) to see if I was able to wear them. Tried it everyday for 2-3 weeks but I just couldn't wear them any longer than 2 hours. After that time my eyes started to hurt and I had to take them out.

I don't know if I was just lucky to get a free pair of contacs. But some of my friends buy a stack of conatcs that lasts for 6 months. I just wouldn't do that if I never tried to use them for a longer period of time.

Not true. My eyesight is shockingly bad, -4.75, but I am fine with contacts for this prescription. if anything glasses are worse because you have to get a really thick lense.

contacts are better just because glasses pretty much look good on 5% of people.
When you get them your eye doctor will tell you to try them and come back if they don't 100% comfortible. TAKE THAT ADVISE! get on the computer for a few hours and see if they get dry ect.. I bought a years worth of them the first time I got them I ended up hating them within a month.

I would never be able to put on contacts. Makes me cringe on the fact I'm putting something onto my eyeballs. Thankfully I have 20/20 vision so I don't need contacts or glasses.

I got glasses recently and when I walked into my class all the women were like whoa who's this guy. I didn't know you wore glasses, those are cute blah blah blah
