Is it even possible to add 4Lbs of lean muscle in just two weeks?
Two weeks ago I was an even 180 and today my weight is 184.
I don't feel like I gained fat as nothing in that area seems different, but even with my hard work in the gym I can't see how I put on 4Lbs lean muscle in just two weeks.
I mean, that's not even possible is it?
Water weight maybe? My calories are well below what I burn in a day so how in the hell did I gain 4 Lbs?

I don't think so, no. I remember reading in Men's Health that the average bodybuilder will gain 3-5 lbs. of muscle per year. Sometimes there will be the freaks who gain go 5-7 lbs....but not more than that.
It could be that you're retaining some water, it happens a lot. Especially if there is a lot of sodium in your diet. There a lot a supplements that tend to cause you to retain water as well. What we do in life...echoes in Eternity!

More than likely water weight or food still floating around in your digestive tract.
A 3-5 pound variation is not unusual in this circumstance.....heck, my weight easily varies around 3 - 5 pounds which is why I only weigh myself on occasion and go primarily by what I see in the mirror.

I sure can't be because of carbs. I'm on a tight Keto diet and keep my carb grams below 10 a day.
Maybe all this damn meat and fat I am eating is causing a rise in sodium level. This diet is high in salt.
Then again given that this Keto diet has me so damn constipated that I am bloating up because I can't take a crap.

I don't know how you gained the weight, but one thing I do know - you didn't gain 4 lbs. of muscle in one or two weeks. No way. Muscles are microscopically torn during exercise, and it's when they're rebuilt through diet and rest that one gains muscle, but it can be a glacially slow process, so it takes time.
I agree with the other posters. It's probably water weight. Or if you ate some bad stuff, it could conceivably be carbs or protein stored as fat in the intestinal area.Whatever you feed - grows. Whatever you starve - dies.

A quart of water weighs two pounds. if you really want to keep tabs on your gains, weigh in every day at the same time, same conditions (ie just after you pee in the AM) get a ten day average, and work from there.
I lose 2-3 lbs during the night sleeping! Why? moisture during exhaling along with heat eminating from the body...MULLYCarpe Diem, BABY

took me 14 months on TRT to put on 4 lbs of lbm, so I would say the answer is no.
Yorkshireman I: Right! I had to get up in the morning, at ten o'clock at night, half an hour before I went to bed, eat a lump of cold poison, work twenty-nine hours a day down mill and pay mill-owner for permission to come to work, and when we got home, our dad would kill us and dance about on our graves, singing Hallelujah!

Sorry guys.....dont mean to come in here and stir the pot.
But I would never say that anything is impossible. It might just be very rare.
My situation is one some of you may be familiar with. I will gladly explain it if need be but I have done it so many times, unless someone asks, I'll just give you the stats.
You asked 4 lbs in 2 week which would be an average of 2 lbs per week.
I actually exceeded this by a good margin. I gained over 30 lbs in 10 weeks. YES LBM. (No AAS or PH)
But I really only count it as 20lbs over 8 weeks because I dont count the first 10 lbs I gained back after my accident because my weight was artificially low and much of the first 10 lbs was probably depleted glycogen.
So being more conservative,(not counting the first 10 lbs I gained) I gained 20lbs of scale weight AND dropped 3%bf in 8 weeks. That is a LBM mass gain of about 26 lbs in 8 weeks or just about 3.25lbs / week.
I will say that my case is probably rare...and has a lot to do with muscle memory, but I am here to say that it can happen and is not totally impossible.
I have now been back training 6 months. Obviously my gains have slowed and I can not continue to gain at this pace that I did at first, or even close to it. But I have gained about 7 more lbs since. This puts me at over 30 lbs in 6 months (40lbs if you count me starting from my artificially low weight after my accident). My gains will be hard fought from here on out I am sure.Last edited by induced_drag; 10-31-2009 at 11:36 AM.

You must have natural high levels, it would take me very high doses of AAs to achieve that in two years or more.
